Round 7 - Tigers vs. Broncos - Pre-Match Discussion

We just need to keep doing what we are doing a little better every week, and starting to work the right side more.

The way this team is starting to play like a unit, playing for each other, is what inspires me most

Will need to be wary of the Tigers as you never know what type of performance they are going to serve up.

Looking at that injury list I'm calling game

they're all "convenient" injuries.

under-estimating the tigers would be our biggest mistake. dont care how average they've been but thats the quickest way to lose footy games in the NRL.

however, concentrate on our own game. execute, and we win.

I doubt the team is underestimating the Tigers but us fans, of course we will. We don't need to have the right attitude for the team to win games, that's the coaches job for the players.

This is a danger game IMO.

All the experts will tip us as favourites, and they are the games we usually struggle in.

If we can keep our heads down and play as we know we can, we should have no dramas beating the Tigers, but as the old saying goes "beware the underdog"

Or perhaps "beware the undercat" (we're playing the Tigers after all)....sorry been a long day and humour is the only thing keeping me sane at the moment.

The Tigers can be brilliant or dreadful. Hopefully, the latter will occur, but the Tigers are extremely unpredictable. Against the Dragons, they were the poorer side for 65 minutes and didn't look like scoring at 12-0, but 5 minutes later it was 12-all. In the middle of a game, they can change their form.

Also, Farah's been ruled out of City-Country through injury. No reason given as to why, but I'd say he's got some really minor thing he's using as an excuse for not playing in a pointless game; he knows he's going to be selected for NSW, so he'd see this as just another opportunity to get a serious injury. Doubt he'll be ruled out on Saturday week though.

What an opportunity to use our right side in attack a lot more;

What an opportunity for the 1st or 2nd receiver to turn the ball inside to Gillett or Glenn or Thaiday... even Hodges, hard running an angle opposite to the expected direction of play ...

What an opportunity to have both side and the middle covered with effective set plays.

So will it be a halves pairing of moltzen and sironen or miller and sironen. Either way I can't see us loosing unless Tedesco ends up being the best thing since sliced bread at fullback

anasta out probably helps them he's been useless.

tedesco will be a gun fb im not sure why they havent put him there yet.

broncos seem to get cocky after being on a roll and then it all falls apart. Let's hope this doesn't happen !

It is important during the course of a long season to make sure we "bank" the games we should win to allow for the tougher games and the origin period where we will be down on personnel and the inevitable injuries.
I think they will be making sure down at Red Hill that no-one slacks off and doesnt turn up wearing their game faces.
It's good timing too with the week off after what has been a full-on 3 week period with the Storm, Titans, and Cowboys all in a row after that debacle against the Roosters.
I hate it when there is no footy on the weekend..... That's what Summer is for.... (I know there is a Test on Friday night but what do I do Saturday, Sunday and Monday???:crying:)

Looking back at the 'historical ladder' on nrl.com, if we win as many games as we lose (12), the lowest we could possibly finish is 9th. So basically 13 wins is the absolute minimum. Anything more than that is a sweet, sweet bonus.

If you want to see another Bronco in action, David Hala's playing for Tonga against Samoa in Penrith on Saturday night at 7:30. Fellow Broncos Francis Molo, Caleb Timu and Corey Oates are all playing for the Queensland Under-20s at 5:30 as well.

If that isn't enough, you could always watch City-Country on Channel 9. :scared:
