he's always rated himself as a fullback. it's his ball playing that's questionable. so would we gain anything over Hoffman?

Yep, he can pass better than Hoffman, has more pace and can tackle/defend better. Whether he would offer the same kind of ball playing skills like Norman is another question and Norman ain't that great.

I seriously doubt his ballplaying skills are as good as Normans, but with a bit of work ..... who knows :001_unsure:

He can pass, we've seen it before. I reckon he could offer the same kind of support that Norman does, and what he lacks in that department he certainly makes up for it with speed. I'd love for him to get a shot, he certainly wouldn't be worse than Hoffman.

He very well could be worse than Hoffman, Kemp has had his time and is now nothing more than an entertaining QCup player. There are other players who should be ahead of Kemp for the fullback spot if Hoffman doesn't take it back.

Bond and Kahu being the main ones.

Playing the guessing game:

1) Norman
2) Hoffman
3) Reed
4) Hodges
5) Maranta
6) Prince
7) Wallace
8) Hannant
9) McCullough
10) Thaiday
11) Glenn
12) Gillett
13) Parker

14) Hunt
15) McGuire
16) Hala
17) Slyney

Even though we're pretty flush with props for once, I reckon they'll stick with Thaiday up front. McGuire's return will most likely have Anderson out of the 17, otherwise 3 props on the bench is a bit of overkill, even if Thaiday does drop back to the 2nd row for a spell.

Bond is not up for 1st grade and Kahu has had a handful of games. I think Kemp is the better choice and just because he's playing QCup doesn't mean he can't play 1st grade, he's still young. Saying that I wouldn't mind if Kahu got the gig. Although you would hope they develop him slowly instead of throwing him into 1st grade in one of the most important positions on the field with only a few games under his belt.

i actually think they'll go for 3 props hala anderson and mcguire. glenn parker and gillett are all very much 80 min players so why not up the prop rotation to maximise our go forward in the middle

and then yeah theres always thaiday who can drop back to 2nd row if it is needed.

I guess seeing as Hannant & McGuire can both play big minutes (50-60) without a drop in performance, it does allow Anderson & Hala to just go absolutely spastic for 20 minutes each. Unfortunately I think Gillett's minutes will suffer as a result, much to the detriment of my fantasy football teams.

What's wrong with Hannant?

team announced, as expected:

1) Norman
2) Hoffman
3) Reed
4) Hodges
5) Maranta
6) Prince
7) Wallace
8) Hannant
9) McCullough
10) Thaiday

15) Anderson
16) Hala
17) McGuire

18) Slyney

I reckon Slyney will be ahead of Hala on the pecking order.

EDIT: Or not. Good news!

3 props on the bench. Thaiday will likely spend time in the back row. Possibly even starting there come game day with Gillett dropping off to the bench?

dont think they'll change the starting side, its been working pretty well. will either just mean high prop rotation to provide maximum impact for 80 mins or give someone a rest in the back row in the 2nd half. i'd like them to do this, only if its clear they need a rest. if glenn gillett and parker dont need a rest then i dont think they should give them one just for the sake of it.

moltzen and sironen the halves for the tigers. a solid effort from our forwards and we should be able to control this game pretty well.

Tigers: James Tedesco, Joel Reddy, Blake Ayshford, Chris Lawrence, Matthew Utai, Curtis Sironen, Tim Moltzen, Aaron Woods, Robbie Farah, Jack Buchanan, Bodene Thompson, Adam Blair, Matt Bell. Interchange: Ben Murdoch-Masila, Eddy Pettybourne, Shaun Spence, Liam Fulton, Sauaso Sue, Ava Seumanufagai.
