Round 8 Discussion

Hmm. Looks like I tipped the dogs too.

I thought the Tigers would get up tonight but didn't expect the scoreline.

That was a nice win for them. Still scrappy in parts but a couple of individuals came up with some big plays and they remained composed even when the Bulldogs posted points.

Meanwhile Reynolds and Hodkinson have played themselves out of Origin. I would have rewarded Hodkinson with some loyalty but so far this season he's done little to earn it.

Such a special play.

It's a shame Wayne couldn't lure him up north.

That was a spectacular try. Better than the try in the 2008 Test..

Brooks first try, you would think the touchie would have been able to see that Seumanufagai was offside from the kick.

He wasn't allowed to go inside the 10, and he did, so he was never put back onside. Should have been a penalty to the Bulldogs.

Reynolds and Hodkinson are playing like shit, yet there's still a concerted push from the NSW media to keep the halves that won last year because "stability". The only one really making any sense is Andrew Johns basically bagging the shit out of them whenever he gets the chance

Daley can't win - he picks them and they stink it up he loses, he picks Maloney and Pearce he doubles down and loses.

Yeah. Loving it. Unless they somehow jag a win.

Yeah Hodko and J-Reynolds are out of form and are at the risk of losing their spots unless they show top form over the next month. Bit hypocritical from Queensland fans bagging the Blues for chopping and changing the team but now they are criticising them for being loyal .

Loyalty is only smart if it is to players that show potential, loyalty for the sack of loyalty is ridiculous. Hodko and grub are average footballers that simply act as link men. They are origin winning halves by simply passing the ball to Hayne.

I hope you guys stay loyal

Calling them average players is a bit of a stretch, I don't think they are the best halves but they are far from average.

For the Blues sake, I hope Maloney/Pearce lift otherwise there's very little else on offer.

Joey is right to bag them out but his alternatives are terrible. Bird and Dugan at five eighth? It doesn't make any sense, especially when his main point of criticism was the lack of points on offer.

Outside of that, the Bulldogs are clearly missing a lot of their star talent and the replacements aren't making the most of their opportunities.

What a great pass from Elgey to Don for that try, tit for tat game here.

The Roosters are currently the top points scorers so they must be doing something right.

Not in recent weeks.

Not in the Origin arena.

Gold Coast 20
Warriors 18

Warriors just had the chance to lock the scores up but opted to go for the quick tap.

Unfortunately they produced a listless set.

Less than 20 to go and the Titans look like they'll end their 8 game hoodoo against the Warriors.

Now Elgey scores.

Something looks wrong with the Warriors this year. They look nothing like the McFadden Warriors of last year. SJ's poor form is a part of it but I feel they're missing Tomkins more than most people realise. Lolohea is a very promising player but he doesn't link the team the way Tomkins does. Makes me worry about them in the post-Tomkins era.
