Round 8 Discussion

Newcastle have promoted Mata'utia in favour of Tapine.

This has to be the last opportunity for some of their players - something has to give.

The NYC Player of 2014 is out-playing the golden boot.

Makes me worry about them in the post-Tomkins era.

It isn't like it's such a huge fall from grace.

9th place to...?

Today is the first time in Titans history that they've scored 30 points on 3 consecutive weekends.

Taumalolo injured in the first minute of play, looks like a medial ligament strain and out for a month.
One more injury and half the Wesley Snipers starting 17 will be on the sideline FFS

Kurt Gidley, give yourself an uppercut.

The titans beat the warriors? I must be taking crazy pills!

Less about ladder position and more about competitiveness. Warriors looked dangerous at the end of last year, this year they pose about as much threat to oppositions as I do to a salad.

Have said it before but when things are flowing for this Cowboys team they're probably my favourite team to watch.. JT just looks like a kid in the backyard putting on plays

I wouldn't be that concerned.

As I said, Tomkins isn't exactly leaving a legacy there. Losing 'better' really isn't something worth celebrating unless you're Samoa and apart of the reason the Warriors are struggling is because they've got to all that money sitting on the sideline. Imagine if they spent that better?

The Warriors can recover after Tomkins. They've already got Tomkins replacement in RTS, they just need SJ to pull the finger out, drop the dead wood and develop their rookies.

Been watching since the 26 minute and useless Gidley is up to his second crucial error. Dead set this bloke should not be captain and on the bench at best

Newcastle lack direction and their attention to detail is very poor.

I don't think they're receiving too many favours from the referee in the ruck. Plenty of second efforts and flops being let go which is adding to the frustration but they've been their own worst enemies out there.

In comparison, the Cowboys suffered two setbacks in losing Taumalolo and Granville early yet they haven't let it affect them.

9 to go

North Queensland 26
Newcastle 18

And as I was writing that, the Knights score two tries as Roberts breaks through some soft defence to put Mata'utia away.

Sione did very well to bump off the swarming defence and Newcastle are back.

No 3 for Gidley and to think someone in the media was saying he was being looked at for a bench spot for Australia. What a fucking joke

North Queensland did very well to win that game but gee the Knights were their own worst enemies.

Couldn't believe that kick from Roberts after Mata'utia scored. A touch finder on the 4th when you're 2 behind with little time remaining - I'm sure some Novacastrians are wondering who he's playing for.

Him and Kidley are the Knights two worst players at the moment.

Yeah Hodko is a winner by simply passing the ball to Hayne

Calling them average players is a bit of a stretch, I don't think they are the best halves but they are far from average.

Reynolds is definitely far from average. He's too shit to be average.
