PRE-GAME Round 8 - Warriors vs Broncos

Point taken. It's however troubling that a player is retained when their performances on the field are by and large failures
That's more the issue: that you wouldn't pick him from scratch. Milford, the same. As many have said, that Milford's not in the leadership group says he's closer to the door than table. I suspect Boyd's nonchalance might even be a corrosive influence in the team.

TPJ in the second row worries me moving forward. The bloke is probably our laziest player (for covering defensively) and is about as thick as a bag of cement. I'd rather him just meat-heading it up the middle and look to get some offloads happening for Luke and Niu.

Ah but look what he did in the first few minutes against the Tits. That's what he is there for - to create holes on the edges

I think he's had his best games in attack on the edge and his best games in defence in the middle. I dunno if you can make it work like that though.

There is an awful lot more on Milford's shoulders than Boyd. Boud just has to go out on the field, catch the ball and run, and tackle, not organise attacking opportunities. ANyway, we are stuck with Boyd, and I am hopeful Milf, in fact the whole spine will start to perform as Luke exerts more control in the middle and our defence lays a platform for momentum and confidence.

A good coach can make anything work, and defence is our first priority.

So here's a controversial conundrum: do we want to cobble together a win against a busted team this weekend or would we be better off in the long term losing badly to compel a much needed sea-change?

Yeah get that but what about the remaining 75 odd minutes? We need more from him.

Absolutely. It's a bit of both. He looks for the ball. The ball gets out to him. He can't do much when the ball keeps getting turned inside all the time.

Issac! Where are you! Step up mate. Now. Guide the rabble!

Honestly, if he even thinks about changing our Fullback again with 15 to go, someone should escort him out of the Coaches box then and there.

In fact, if from the 60 minute mark onward he even looks down towards the Bench at whatever Outside Back we're carrying without one of our other Backs being genuinely injured, someone should rip the walkie talkie out of his hands immediately.

I understand your logic and where you're coming from here, but I just can't back against my own club.
Even a win in golden point with a last second field goal is more preferable to a loss.

One win is not likely to save Siebs' bacon, but it may well be the badly needed catalyst for some semblance of a resurgence. If not he's gonski anyways.

I think if you're hoping the team loses you're probably enjoying the "drama" a little too much.

I'm not even sure it feels like "my own club" anymore. I guess that's the conclusion I'm starting to reach.

I wouldn't say I'm hoping for the team to lose - I'm not really - but there might be a silver lining to another loss.

Can anyone name another successful team in the comp that lists a utility and an outside back on their bench?

Both Seibold's choice of players on the bench and his use of the bench consistently causes one to scratch their head bemusement...

I'd take one of the Broncos dance squad over Boyd at this stage. Seeing his name in the team list now is just synonmous with losing and losing hard.
To be honest, I would take one of the Broncos dance squad over Boyd every day of the week and three times on Sunday. But each to their own.

I think that is why there has been such a furor. The majority of supporters must be feeling the same. They just don't play like the Broncos. And for our captain to come out and say when they do it will be for the ones who are not complaining was just simply ill-advised and poorly thought through.

I'm sure he meant well, but the way he came across would have caused many of the fan base to take umbrage.

I just want to see them compete for the full 80 minutes, and if they are winning with 10 to go I want them to keep pushing for further points. I want to see that they are fair dinkum committed to the jersey and what it represents.

Uhm, it appears that Seibold will not be sacked in the short term (or even the middle term) so a loss this week will not change anything.

Oates needed to be dropped BUT I am not ready to send him off to the glue factory yet. For starters there is at least one player who should have been dropped way before Oates was.
Forgetting how to pass to him for another whole season has definitely contributed to his form drop (Moga never passed either but back then Boyd could manage a cut out pass). He's defended alongside plenty of dodgy centres but none of them have left him with a 20m gap to cover until this season.

There's a bunch of shit happening at training according to media.

Oates looks to have been dropped for Isaako
Boyd initially came out in the yellow reserves bib with Coates training at centre, but later came out and trained in the centres himself

Nobody really knows what's going on.

Edit: Looks like Darius is in the 'rehab group' and is in doubt.

I think ‘bunch of shit’ would sum up most of our training seasons, at least that would mean what happens at training transfers onto the field.

Storm did it for much of last year
Bennett does it regularly
