so, we had players breaking down in tears after last week....

Does someone put a gun to their head and blow their brains out on live TV if we get beaten this week?

We will win by 14 this week, so the cycle starts and repeats itself the following week

If anything, the players need to stop looking for offloads. They keep hitting and spinning preventing them from finding their front, as a result they struggle to generate any momentum through the middle. They just need to keep it simple - get the defence retreating, play to their edges and stick to a gameplan. In this case, they should be targeting Wakeham and Meaney with pet plays.

The mistake a lot of teams make when they lose form is they go into their shell. Instead of playing smart footy, they play no footy and it just makes short work for the opposition. All they have to do is strip it back, play smart percentage football and play to the strengths of their strike weapons.

For instance I'd be telling both Milf and Niu to back themselves. If they're not 100% confident in the pass just take on the defence and let the play transpire. If they happen to blow the try and the numb skulls on television criticise them, as coach I'd take the heat.

I suppose if people don't think the stats tell the truth they can contact NRL 360 and point out the error of their ways. I just think so many posters make the most irrational leaps to justify their preconceptions. I've seen literally hundreds of posts over the last few years claiming Boyd has terrible defence yet the evidence contradicts that view. So, what is correct or more likely? The evidence or the perception ?

The most embarrasing defensive highlights reel of 2019.

What's the point of having an amazing defensive centre if we're getting 26+ points put on us per game?

The point is simple. Blame others. Would you prefer the second worst defensive centre? I'm just tired of posters banging on about Boyd who clearly has been amongst the better players in a badly beaten team.

Actually some praise for the simple fact that Boyd could have spat the dummy after the humiliation of losing the captaincy but what did he do? He put his best foot forward and he put everyone who wanted him gone out of their misery by announcing an end date. How have people responded? With a fraction of the dignity shown by Boyd. He should be commended for his defensive efforts and others would do well to follow his lead and get on with it.

Ha! That’s the interpretive dance they do at training, synchronised hitting and spinning. It explains the constant inside balls too and no structure. Everyone must hit and spin at all times, even the halves and backs.

You don’t hit and spin (in defense absorb and fall off). Anyone who doesn’t do it is out. This explains so much of what is going on.

Boyd's legacy has been soiled by no one other than himself. That is a fact.

Ha ha ha. According to whom? Nobody mentioned his legacy so what's your point if you have one? I suspect it's just the same old blinkered bitterness combined with petty jealousy. If the rest of the team put as much effort into defence that Boyd does we wouldn't be 2 and 6.

Remember when we used to talk about potential game plans in these pre-game threads.
Like "Foran is their only semi-creative player, we are going to need to shut him down...."

What, you don't like reading through endless pages of posts debating Boyd's defence until it feels like you've been staring into the void so long it has started staring back?

what are these pet plays you speak, for thoust have not seen any.....

The one where we bomb the opposition 20 metres line from 50 metres out and nobody chases and the opposition Fullback or Winger catch it easily so they start their next set on the front foot.

right....

So, can i ask in that case for NO pet plays this weekend thanx...

Didn't we score off that last week?
