Robinson is brilliant. He thinks outside the box to ensure everything inside works 110%. He looks to psychologists, wrestlers, soccer structures, fitness experts - you name it, if he thinks it will add to their game he is open to it. No arrogance, just a willingness to experiment to see what works.

However for mine, he focuses on the team first - structures always, and then looks to his players to integrate their individual strengths into their structures and adapts the structures where necessary to get a best fit.

Most of all though, he knows what works and what doesn't, and what doesn't gets dumped.

I’ve loved how they’ve integrated the Netherlands/Barcelona total football style into attack and defense. Barcelona were so good at keeping their shape on both sides of the ball. The Roosters do a similar thing as Elliott points out in that video. Like you said it’s very intelligent of Robinson to integrate structures from a completely different sport. I could talk about this stuff for days. It’s a nice escape from our rabble, though it does show just how far we are away from the top.

Am I the only one who thought Farnworth was ok v Warriors?

Don't get me wrong he has a lot of work to do, especially on defensive reads, but you can tell the bloke is actually trying and when he does initiate contact he's a pretty effective tackler.

Something needs to be done about that edge of Farnworth/Coates because it leaks way too many points but I personally feel Herbie doesn't deserve to be dropped, even if Staggs is back.

Croft hasn't help at all defensively on that side. He jumps out and ends up pulling everyone with him.

Go ahead

Farnworth was ok. We had enough numbers on that last try so I don't why Coates was on the centre. Farnworth is better used on the wing though, at least for now.
Our right wing has the same defensive issues whether Staggs is there or not. Staggs has made some great tackle but he has also missed quite a few himself.

I like Croft at 6. Despite people attacking him on here (one of the criticisms I don't necessarily agree with atm), his short kicking game has been fantastic and he looks like he is genuinely putting in for the team. I don't think he's a game manager though, but it's not like he's had much help from the blokes around him or the attacking structure of the side in general.

I'd also drop Milf completely and have Luke on the bench. There's no way that Luke deserves to miss out on form.

My crack at a 17 for this week.

1. Farnworth
2. Coates
3. Staggs
4. Glenn
5. Isaako
6. Dearden
7. Croft
8. Haas
9. Luke
10. Flegler
11. TPJ
12. Joffa
13. Carrigan

14. Niu
15. Kennedy
16. Te'o
17. Lodge

Our edges are massive liabilities defensively so I think best thing to do is put our best two defensive centres there, even if that means moving Glenn. Somehow we need to compensate for Isaako and Coates out wide. I don't think Ofa was too bad in the back row a few weeks ago and its not like he offers impact off the bench anyway, obviously would go Fifita if fit.

Would like to see Farn at fullback because he's elusive and runs the ball hard. Want to see what he can do with some space and if he's got any sort of vision/passing, also curious to see how he would go under the high ball. Unfortunately, I don't think Niu is the solution right now as our back three just offers nothing currently in attack and there's no threat from kick returns. He still deserves a crack off the bench as I think he can be dangerous with his quick feet against tired forwards.

No need to justify dropping Oates, Boyd or Milford - I think those are the three blokes most of us want to see gone.

I'll be the broken record.

Nothing is going to change, we will not win, as long as our defensive structure remains the same. It won't matter who we drop, how we shuffle the positions.

As soon as we leak points, our confidence evaporates. If we let Foran run the show and fail to shut down his supports, they will flog us, they will walk through our shabby edge defence, drawing our wingers yet again off their wings.

Foran is all class. He knows exactly what our weaknesses are and their game plan will focus on exposing us, exactly as every side we have played has done.

Just remember Bellamy dropped Will Chambers in the finals, a guy who has been there for a long time and won them multiple premierships because there was a better option.

Yeah, he didn't drop him straight away. He persisted with him a long time before he dropped him.

Bulldogs are $2.60 next week That's a gift.

Not really relevant to this thread, but look at the 3 players who the Storm let go this year..

Joe Stimson - Struggled immensely at the Dogs before getting injured

Curtis Scott - Off-field issues and playing so poorly at the Raiders that he was dropped for Michael Oldfield

Brodie Croft - Enough said

If the Storm are happy to let a player walk, they're not fucking good.

So...like nothing matters, nothing will change, nothing will work, so why bother with a team list but I will anyway, as we all will and we will all once again be disappointed, so at full strength:

1. Niu
2. Coates
3. Staggs
4. Farnworth
5. Isaako
6. Paix
7. Dearden
8. Haas
9. Luke
10. Lodge
11. Fifita
12. Glenn
13. Carrigan

14. Turpin
15. Flegler
16. TPJ
17. Teo

So yeah, that is what needs to be done moving forward.

Yeah your probably right. I just thought Milf could probably cover more positions if needed.

WOW. Dropping both halves. I like.

Why do people keep picking Farnworth?

The 2 tries he's scored were nice, running through to plant a Croft grubber both times. Outside of those moments, I would argue that he's been one of our worst performing outside backs this season. Have a look at his running metres, how many tries are scored down his side of the field, etc.

He doesn't have the strength to play in the NRL, and he's not exactly fast. He needs an off-season like Coates had, hit the weight room and come back bigger and better in 2021.
