So basically we'll be watching a glorified under 20's game.

Good job NRL. **** idiots.

There's nothing to stop some of the Test players from backing up. Just because they weren't named doesn't mean they won't play.

Better that than naming the players knowing they probably WON'T play. At least we won't attract people to buy tickets under the false premise of the best players being there.

Happy for the boys to be rested (esp if Melourne rest theirs). Play test, have a week off, Play Panthers (likely win) and then the Bye heading into SOO 1.

We actually have a reasonable run for Origin this year - Game 1 we are on the bye, and game 2&3 we play Raiders (H) and Eels (A) without our rep blokes. Good for the young guys to get a run and (as every year) get a glimpse at life after Lockyer.

We have won 7 in a row, so a win on Sat would be gravy, just don't want to leak easy points. If Storm rest their reps, we're in with a shot IMO.

Melbourne's players won't rest. I certainly hope the Broncos player won't either.

Interestingly Norman, Baptiste and Gagai have been named in the U20s as well.

Reckon we could see Yow Yeh, Hoffman and Beale all play?

Although he may not get a run I have to give a wrap to Justin Hunt. For those who don't follow QCup, he is playing fullback for Redcliffe this year and IMO would be the buy of the year in the QCup. He posseses some great footwork. Think of Karmichael Hunt's step, now picture someone actually using it when it works and that's what Hunt has been doing this year.

Check out the Dolphins YouTube page for some highlights. Well done CK icon_thumbs_u

Will be an interesting game regardless as the winner will take the outright lead of the comp

Oh yeah, my bad. I thought it was the dragons who lost unexpectedly last week, but it was the storm.

My stab at an understrength Storm line-up...

1. Gareth Widdop
2. Elijah Niko
3. Dane Nielsen
4. Justin O'Neil
5. Anthony Quinn
6. Maurice Blair
7. Ben Hampton
8. Jesse Bromwich
9. Ryan Hinchcliffe
10. Bryan Norrie
11. Atelea Vea
12. Kevin Proctor
13. Todd Lowrie

14. Rory Kostjaysn
15. Robbie Rochow
16. Adam Woolnough
17. Jaiman Lowe

Actual storm team:
1. Billy Slater
2. Anthony Quinn
3. Dane Nielsen
4. Beau Champion
5. Matt Duffie
6. Gareth Widdop
7. Cooper Cronk
8. Jesse Bromwich
9. Cameron Smith
10. Bryan Norrie
11. Adam Blair
12. Kevin Proctor
13. Todd Lowrie.
Interchange: Ryan Hinchcliffe, Atelea Vea, Adam Woolnough, Jaiman Lowe.

Obviously may change on the day.
If the teams line up as named.. we are going to get smashed (although we would have 1 extra player).

What the hell! If Storm have all their big guys playing and we have all our best players out then we have no chance.

I hope it's some sort of sneaky ploy.

I hope we rest them all except for Yow Yeh, can't see any harm in him playing. Have been saying for years we need to just write off games like this when the time arises.

We have a prop in Hannant, doing the hardest job (on the body) on the field, a backrower who will play some prop because the Aussie bench includes a nuffie like Idris who has OP ongoing issues, a 34 yo lightweight who is vital to our season, and a centre in Hodges with more injury problems in the recent past than just about anybody running around. Its a no-brainer, rest them all.

Now if the Storm rest all their players, its still an even money game at worst. Cronk might only get 20 mins in the test, and therefore would back up surely.

Hope Griffin follows through.

From a tipping perspective, if there was ever a game to be listening to the radio when team news come through an hour before kick-off and then adjusting your tip accordingly, this is the game.

Oink !

Have a look at the photo for the Suns/Lions game on the Translink event page.

Hehehe.

To be fair they wouldn't have found a pic of Lions or Suns fans smiling.

Hoffmans return listed on the broncos site as round 12.

this could be good after some thought, we always fade away at the end after our stars seem flat. this could counter that, esp after getting wins on the board to start the year, we really dont need to be in desperation mode atm.

Exactly. We're in a position where we can afford to drop a game, and in the process protect the health and wellbeing of our star players.

I bet if we were 5-3, 4-4 or 3-5 it'd be a different story!
