Any chance of Wallace being named in the city origin sides? If so then we could be up against it.

The teams have been named. No Broncos. Just Beau Champion for the Storm.

Going to be hard to stop the most attacking team in the comp, pretty sure they've caught on to the whole 'bombing it and waiting for an error' now.

"They were direct comments about our team but it was nice of him to do that because he pretty much gave away their game plan - they were going to come through our middle and bomb our back three, something we weren't good at (against the Warriors)," Smith said.
Sauce??

Sorry, should have stated he was talking about Newcastle.

Lockyer, Hodges and Thaiday will be rested.

I'd be happy with them resting Hodges and Sammy and just leaving it up to Locky to make the call. As nice as it would be to be playing the Storm at full strength I'd hate to lose any of them for an extended period due to reoccurring injuries (Hodges especially) [icon_pray.

NRL fucked up bad having this game on a rep weekend. Could've been a spectacle, and I say this regardless of whether players will back up or not.

Given Brisbane missed the 8 last year, the NRL couldn't really know when they did the draw that both teams would be going so well.

*edit* Plus don't we generally play Melbourne after this match anyway and its always a damn good match?

Named team:
1. Corey Norman
2. Dane Gagai
3. Jack Reed
4. Dale Copley
5. Shea Moylan
6. Ben Hunt
7. Peter Wallace
8. Nick Kenny
9. Andrew McCullough
10. Mitchell Dodds
11. Alex Glenn
12. Dane Carlaw
13. Corey Parker (c)
Reserves:
14. Kurt Baptiste
15. Scott Anderson
16. Dunamis Lui
17. David Hala
18. Justin Hunt

Doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. Hopefully Hoffman returns.

Interesting that Tronc still couldn't get a run.

Well Storm are indicating they may well rest Slater, Cronk and Smith, so would be very interesting to see how they go.

Has definitely taken the gloss off the match.

Yes it has, such a pity! [icon_confu
Hoping Hoffman will be back! [icon_pray.

On the bright side, Kurt Baptiste is getting a run! icon_thumbs_u

And Dane Gagai will finally get his $ increase in Supercoach! [icon_razz1

Will he though? If Hoffman does return or Beale doesn't play for NZ, I can see Norman taking the bench spot (unfortunately).

Good call from griffin imo. Sure the match wont be what it could have been but I would.much prefer to play it save at this point in the season. Hopefully baptiste gets a game.

Wow, some new faces this week into the team.
I guess this was the perfect time to blood new players, because of Rep footy, just wish it wasn't against the Storm.
I think we will lose this one, but I'm not too concerned with a loss since we've won 7 straight & we have no Lockyer, Hodges, Thaiday, Hannant, Yow Yeh.
As long as the boys stay competitive & don't drop our attitude, we'll be right in this.
Here's hoping the Storm rest Cronk, Slater & Smith.

I'm actually happy with the Broncos resting our big 3 for this game so they are not over-worked - very responsible IMO. After all you don't win the premiership in May, but you can lose it then.

Although I would prefer stand-alone weeks for rep games. As Wayne pointed out last night, the EPL stops all club games for a period of time for Internationals to be played, and no-one bats an eyelid at that. And yes I realise the NRL is not on the same level as the EPL, but it's the concept.

Yep, and Origin is very close on the heels of the Test so any rest you can get now is critical.

I think it's a good idea to rest our top players too, you sure don't win premierships in May.
Curious to see how our young guys go.
What kind of intensity in defense and attitude in attack we will have....should be interesting.

Although I'm happy with the decision it's such a bugger this will happen for one of the few games I'll be going to this year.

Really hope Baptiste plays although I suspect Beale will slot back in and he'll be relegated to the NYC.

So basically we'll be watching a glorified under 20's game.

Good job NRL. Fucking idiots.
