Except, now that the remainder of his contract is exempt, does he get paid out the remainder and also get the cushy job + wage on top? They are two separate things.

Even more interesting will be if the above is correct, and they don't follow through with the job, now the exemption has been granted. It will pretty much confirm that the job was only created to bypass the salary cap.
