Sandow's sin binning

Sandow has not been charged ...

I wonder what a coach will say now, the next time he gets fined for doing the same

Wow, way to set a precedent... fuckheads!

I'd like to see other players have a go at them too. Literally no one cares about Parramatta, but shitty refs affect everyone.

Sandow should have been sent off altogether and suspended 2-4 matches. Referees decisions and mistakes should be a weekly segment where they admit to whatever wrongs they have made or explanations given as to why they reach a particular decisions.Poor decisions get a fine of sorts in the manner of wage reductions for the week. Referees believe they are sacrosanct and their word is law but even judges decisions can be overturned. Recently one on field ref clearly could be heard saying six again yet the other ref refused to accept it and incorrectly gave possession to the wrong team.

I'm all for protecting refs but the inconsistency of the ten metres( a problem easily solved with technology ) is just one aspect of many. I want the right decisions made on field and don't give a shit about a slight delay. If the central ( TV monitor ref ) needs to make something right then he should do so. Time is something we have but a wrong decision can destroy a coaches career or ruin a teams season. Right is better than fast and wrong.

I wasn't proud of Sandow even if he verbalised that which we know to be true. Bought referees and crooked judiciaries. NSW has for years received favourable decisions when SOO players from that state have faced sanction.

IE. Reynolds.

All your need to do is look at him getting off that to see the the NSWRL is still an absolute farce. The fact that their fans support their clearly bias decisions, especially around Origin time, really just goes to show the sort of people our fans south of the border are.

I just have to point out that the refs in "the world game" (**** soccer sucks) are easily paid off all the time to give teams an unfair advantage. Having such bad calls happen over the past few years, it could be a possibility in our game too. Only thing is they won't be investigated because they are never held accountable for their poor refereeing.

I think that's an outrageous suggestion.

Perhaps but when you consider how easily players are coerced then doing the same to a referee is not outside the realms of possibility. In fact, given that the players earn more than the refs I don't see why our refs are any less likely to be paid for than refs in other sports. It's happened in cricket, soccer and NFL and very likely in most sports where refs have a large influence.

I think it's harmless. Refs would cop worse all the time, they're thicker skinned.

I heard that call almost once a game in every sport I ever played. Tell him to watch his mouth and move on.

If he called him a fucking dumb ****, that's a different story.

Blaming the referees is old hat, especially the on-field refs.

I don't think there is a sport in the world where the officials aren't criticised. Even the NFL who review everything to the inch degree still make howlers.

What Sandow said was off and they should have made an example out of him.

All I want, is for them to be consistently allowed to overturn bad decisions. It would eliminate so much fan frustration.

Aye.

The whole instance involving Woods was a joke.

Wouldn't get rid of the phantom Bird penalty but there is never going to be a perfect system.

I had always imagined Sandow saying something like that but I never thought he really would.

All things considered everyone knows you must never bad talk a referee but I think Sandow not getting charged is a fair call, it's not like he swore at him or anything.

So essentially calling someone corrupt is better than swearing at him... that'll do me!

I agree that questioning a refs integrity is worse than swearing but I don't think that's what this is.

Like I said "how much are they payin ya?!" is almost a sporting tradition at this point. It's said almost once a game in casual sports, where the ref is obviously not being paid off because it's a nothing game.

It's come to mean a ref has made a seemingly obvious wrong call, or series of, benifitting one team. I believe he was questioning his decision making, not his integrity.

Had he called him a cheat, that's a different story. I don't think he needs to be made a further example of, a send off is sufficient.
