Out of interest sake 1910, do you have any inside info who we might expect to be in discussions?
I do want to add though, I am not against Handscomb's inclusion at all, in fact the only reason I went with Wade was for a bit of experience around all the new boys. I also rate Handscomb.
He bats consistently at opener or 3 at Shield level, don't see any difference.
If you have ever played cricket in your life you would know that opening the batting is a specialist spot and completely different to batting 3
Learn to read please.
Also when u say don't see a difference the difference is
1. Name he last time hands comb opened the batting in Sheffield shield
And 2. The step up from Sheffield shield to test cricket is enormous
No, 42 and 9 on debut in the '93 Shield Final.
9 is pretty good out of a total of 75!
1. google.com
2. There's no difference in terms of transitioning from wicket keeping to opening the batting, you're spending the same amount of time out in the middle overall, unless you're claiming that the extra mental exertion of representing your country would contribute to physical fatigue more so than representing your state, which is completely arbitrary.
All of these are moot points though, as even when he bats up the order in FC he's not the first choice wicket keeper.

If you're fielding at mid off, you're not concentrating on every ball, you're not running to the stumps on every hit ball, you're not helping set fields or talking to your captain all day, you're not responsible for the vibe of the side and the fielding in general, you're not concentrating on keeping up to the stumps against spin under lights with a pink ball that you've never kept to.
You're also not crouching up and down wearing gear all day.
AB couldn't do it, he's the best batsman in the world and captain, keeping and batting was too hard. His batting slipped.
