Slater + Inglis Want To Join Broncos

Inglis is gone, if he won't play against the Storm he is most likely to play for the Rebels or Essendon so he doesn't have to relocate...

He didn't really say that.
He said he wouldn't play against the storm but again he would leave all his options open. He is pretty hard to understand though :P

In short, all his options are open, he didn't really rule anything out the way I see it.

Ok, I put teletext on, this is a transcript cause it was hard to really hear what he is saying.

Fitler: Mate, there's talk about them pulling the Melbourne Storm team apart. If that happens what chance are you of lining up against Melbourne Storm?

Inglis: You know, if, I don't think I will ever line up against them. It is something I will consider and it's always in the back of my mind, but we have to wait to that day.

Fitler: You be inclined to go AFL or Rugby Union?

Inglis: Another code, not giving anything out as yet. But it's always there, but got to keep it open.

Fatty: I heard Brad Scott, North Melbourne, who said he'd love to have Greg Inglis at his club. We saw footage in the week captured by Channel 9 cameras of you kicks a 55 metre goal through the sticks. Take us through this. Youv'e kicked the ball. You've kicked the ball... blah blah

Inglis: A bit of fun. Picked it up didn't think anything of decided to boot it.

Inglis honestly sounds like he suffers an intellectual disability.

haha, he didn't come across quite as bad as the teletext made it out, but yeah, it did seem a little bit as though speaking wasnt his first language.

Oh gee. Inglis and Fitler talking too each other would've been an intellectual sensation, neither of them know how to use actuall words.. they talk and its just sound.

Inglis always talks like that. They should use an interpreter when they interview him... [icon_shru [icon_wink

The upside as far as he's concerned, is that no one was able to get any wiser from what he said. [icon_lol1.

Fitler is the worst. Everytime he makes a comment when he's reporting from the sideline it usually sound like "and then he shoudl come to the short side and *mmmaaarrggggggrumble***and pass it to the second man"

DAMMIT MAN, TELL US ALREADY!!

OH btw, I didn't realise the NFL was coming to Brisbane?? Would be good to see Inglis in the flesh playing for.. The Oakland Raiders ;)

They can have him. I hear the Giants were scoping him out but he can't do enough backflips in a row.
Also Al Davis is apparently set to offer Inglis the biggest rookie contract ever, because he has all the makings of a great: he's fat.

Anthony Mundine school of media training

He can be a gibbering idiot for all I care. It's what he does on the field that counts.

Inglis will be in Brisbane next year....when he plays Origin.
I dunno mate, the AFL are planning on topping up the offer, $1,000,000 plus is gonna be hard to turn down. You'd think that the AFL would pay more for Inglis than Falou as he is rated higher. Can't see how the Broncos could even get near what they would table. My thoughts is that he is gone.

Two things about that though, the two new clubs have salary cap concessions which the current clubs do not have. Also, one would expect that the current clubs would already be topping up certain players from their `marketing budget' and a large amount would not be available like the two new clubs. Also, would Inglis have any real value as a marketing tool for a Melbourne, Adelaide or Perth club given that it is likely he would have a very low profile in those markets. It would be a bit of Inglis who?? That would leave the Swans or the Lions as the only viable contenders for a `marketing' reason. I think it is more likely that if he were to swap codes it would be to the rebels.

Agree with you Lynx, especially now that he has said that he would only contemplate it if he was forced out of the Storm. I can't imagine any Melbourne based AFL club offering enough to lure Inglis away. The Rebels however could be a very big threat.

If he is that attached to Melbourne, it will be tough to attract him to Brissy, but probably even tougher to Sydney.
