Cronk > Prince.

Because of Inglis, Smith and Slater in the team.

Fixed that one icon_thumbs_u

So you're saying Cronk brings nothing to the table? Individually Cronk is an excellent organiser and has a fantastic kicking game.

No, what I'm saying is that the reason Cronk will, and should, get picked is solely because of essential storm players in key positions, as Prince doesn't have the same level of existing connections he'll get skipped - IMO, Prince is the better halfback, but Cronk, due to his established rapport with key players, he should get in

What I'm saying is that due to his team connections, skill levels don't matter

Of course skill levels matter, he wouldn't get picked in the team if the selectors didn't think he was up to the task.

How come Shane Perry never played origin then? Because he had a rapport with Lockyer and Karmichael, therefore those team connections should have justified his selection.

Hey, if you think Perry and Cronk are cut from the same cloth, we really aren't arguing anymore

I'm aware he is not totally incompetent and wouldn't be playing first grade other wise, but IMO Prince would be picked over cronk based on individual skills, but for the storm connection

I dunno, I think Cronk has a superior kicking and defensive game, might not be as elusive as Prince but I think they are very close, but Cronk just edges him out.

And I definitely don't think Perry and Cronk are comparable in anyway, but when you said skill levels don't matter I was a bit like wtf?

Oh, I knew what you meant, I just couldn't resist

Word us bellamy wants carney at 6 for city country match, weird hey rocky, since he's a fullback.......

Our backline is going to be a bit of a pain to choose this year.
Slater, Tate, Inglis, Folau, Boyd, Tuqiri, Tonga

It's gonna be interesting to see who the selectors go with.

Quite the embarrassment of riches - which is mighty nice

Watching Boyd on Friday night, I think he could take Hunt's spot as the utility on the bench, has the ability to fill 1-5, and that would allow us to fit, Slater, Tuqiri/Tate, Tonga, Inglis & Falou into the backline.

Definitely a good position to be in...:)

you could be onto something there. Boyd is pretty good defensively I could see him roaming around the park as a second rower too.

yeah and good luck to him, he hasn't played at 6 for a while so he might find it difficult when he's asked to make an extra 20 tackles.

Anyway, he won't get picked, he doesn't play for Melbourne.... [icon_wink

Plus, he get targeted something chronic

If we were to go on form it would have to be Slater, Boyd, Tonga, Tate and Tuqiri, but i expect obviously folau and inglis will be there which imo would make it: Slater, Folau, Tonga, Inglis, Tuqiri. Omg that backline is MASSIVE and has no weaknesses at all.

Good point on form, watching Tatey and he may jag a wing spot, but you're right, Inglis and Falou won't miss out unless their injured

Tonga is in career best form IMO, and imagine him in a better side.

On the other side of the coin tho, nsw has just as good a backline, but with the morris boys there are a few handling and defensive problems, which the likes of tonga and inglis will find out very quickly. Add to that haynes ordinary form and the question mark over jennings fitness (altho he killed it today) and i think QLD deserve the edge in the backs
