After being dumped by two different teams, this guy was just about ready to fade away as a competent journeyman who couldn't keep his spot in a first grade squad in a competition that is currently spoiled for talented outside backs. Any other weak minded footballer would have given it all away as hopeless right there and then.

Ever since coming back home to Brisbane, he has been a revelation. Every time he gets his hands on the ball, he is making valuable metres from kick returns. It normally takes around 4 defenders all latching on to him to stop him completely, and apart from that one bomba try against the Dragons, has been fairly decent with put downs on his left edge (that is, the rare opportunities he has had on his side in the attacking 20).

As he builds more and more confidence, I'm really looking forward to seeing where he goes with this. It's fair to assume he'll be competing for his wing spot with Hoffman come the end of the year after Milf arrives, so he needs to keep it up.

Loved your post and couldn't agree more. He has some real venom in his runs which we've desperately needed for some time.

I like this point though. I didn't see Vidot all that much at his previous clubs. Does the guy have speed? Watching the Rabbitohs game, I counted at least twice he was unmarked but couldn't get the ball. He seems to relish the physical contest but would love to see him in open space.

I think being back home has done the trick, he's an Algester boy from memory which is where I lived when we moved here :takdir:

I was unsure about signing him but he has completely proved me wrong and has been our best off-season signing.

Loving what he has been doing for us.

I read somewhere that Vidot is intent on shedding weight and building speed after not being selected for the Nines.

I am confident Barba will develp a combination with Reed and Vidot

It's imperative that we kick to his week at least 5 times a game.

He is top flight in my book as a winger ... almost as good as Oates was last year :takdir:

He hasn't really got great speed atm to be honest, but his strength and metre gainage is awesome, hopefully he can shed another 6-7 KG's and be a bit lighter when he gets in the open, he'll also be a lot better once we have an actual Five-Eighth (Milf) feeding him the ball.

Agreed. Even with the relatively little opportunity he's had outside Jack (White Line fever) Reed he has done exceptionally well so far.

A great buy.

He's justified the initial excitement a lot of fans had on here which is nice to see.

Still think he's going to have to build on his game and really improve his work under the high ball to really be anything more than a one note player but in fairness, he's been playing down a left edge that's comprised of the biggest ball hoggers in the game. It's not even Hoffman either, Glenn & Reed have their Tate esque moments too.

Props to his sister who predicted the turn around in this very forum.

He should be proud of himself, I thought highly of him a few years ago, and my respect for him is right up there.

It looks like he's just enjoying his footy, and its paying off. He's proof that you don't need to be a superstar to be an invaluable member of the team.

His work in starting our sets...well, it's been mentioned by everyone, but it's awesome.

You'd like to see an actual half on that left side to see what he can add in attack too.

It's only a matter of time before he breaks the defense and steamrolls a fullback. One thing I have realized, and it might be nothing, is that every other Bronco hangs out with their team mates. It doesn't look like he does.

He has been killing it. I think it's hilarious that my Dragons loving mate was laughing at the Broncos for signing him because he never comes looking for the ball to make metres to relieve the pressure. He has done the exact opposite, love his runs and how he fights for every metre. Livin la Vidot loca!

Trying to work out which version of 'white line fever' you are referring to? There's a few possible scenarios.

A reference to Reed's tendency to pass infrequently and go himself, not insinuating anything else...

Yeah he is, he is using being snubbed for the 9's as motivation to improve himself.

By the sounds of it, Griffin not picking him was the best thing for him..

Well said nashy and I totally agree with that. Who on the forum is his sister out of interest?

Off the top of my head, I honestly can't remember. But someone was posting here, talking about how good he would be, and posting in a way that you just knew they knew him. When we asked, it was confirmed that she was his sister, and that he was looking forward to coming home to his family in Brisbane. And she also said that he would come back to his best up here.
