State of Origin Game II - NSW vs QLD

losing Smith, Cronk and Thurston in the same year certainly hurt us ...

Yes.......you think we would have had to of have had some kind of plan or strategy in place to prevent that from happening. Either someone retired out of turn or QLD management have NFI what they are doing.

Milford isn't playing anywhere near well for us to deserve the QLD 6

Swap Milford and Hunt in club fixtures and I guarantee you Hunt would be stinking it up just as much if not more than Milf. Now I’m not saying Milford should get Hunts spot but the players around him at the dragons are creating the illusion that he might actually be a origin level player.

Yeah, Wallace has been an absolute numpty in Origin. I dunno if it's the way he's used, as in really terrible coaching, or he's just far from being up to this level. Probably some of both.

He just sucks. Decent at club level, that's it.

Obviously it was Smith the little bitch.

Kudos for Billy for having a crack. The only decent one out of the 'big three'.

I'd be dropping Chambers, Hess and Cooper ...

Hess and Cooper have been poor at both club and rep all season and Chambers has been poor again in origin ... would probably drop Hunt as well, but i don't think we have anyone better ATM.

so I would shift Gagai to center, and bring Oates in on the wing

start Arrow in place of Cooper

Give Joe Ofahengaue a shot of the bench ... his form deserves it

not sure who to give that last bench spot to
I dont mind that plan but arrow on for wallace, with mcguire to prop. We dont have many options in 2nd row so papalii to 2nd row with scott and ofa on the bench... wallace was terrible again, played 2 good minutes followed by 18 terrible ones-never to be cited again. He did exactly what he did in the first game. Imagine calling him an origin prop and paying around $600,000 a game. Webcke must be crying himself to sleep with wallace has tarnished the same jersey he wore with such passion

For sure someone slipped him a very heavy brown paper bag and asked him to retire. I don’t get it. He is is top form.

It's not about paper bags. I'm an absolute believer in the theory he sooked it up after the binning.

It's the fact that no-one went to Chambers after his first (or second) derp kick and said "No more kicks or I'll smack you"..remember Chambers mouthing off to Inglis in game one? He's a **** head.
spot on.

Had a super lucky kick land on its end in the in goal in game one and thinks he is QLD's #1 play maker. Every kick since has been a disaster and definitely went a long way towards costing us the game tonight. Was a major liability for us in game 1, was even worse in game 2. Yeah he scored a try, but any first grader with 2v1 should be able to do that. Should be permanently retired from the QLD team, past it. Would have been better to run Gagai at center and bring in Feldt, we then make those 2 conversions (probably) and game on.

It is a fitness issue IMO. He looks fucked after fifteen minutes every game. Was the same last year.

Wasn't Hunt on the outside of Slater for that play?
If he was then that makes it worse.

In that situation after a poor set (Cooper had just run from DH) the play was always having to be a kick into the ingoal with strong chase yet neither of the halves stood up to take it on.

Hunt should've been second receiver or maybe third if they wanted Macca as a link man and would've had the better play (compared to Munster) being a right footer running right with the whole right side of the field to kick to.

1. Slater
2. Holmes
3. Inglis (c)
4. Ponga
5. Gagai
6. Munster
7. Cherry-Evans
8. Napa
9. McCullough
10. McGuire
11. Oates
12. Kaufusi
13. Arrow

14. Segeyaro
15. Wallace
16. Papalii
17. Ofahengaue

Best I can come up with.

I'd go Su'a in the second row if Gillett isn't fit. He's playing better than all the other options. Either that or start Papa on the edge.

Well at least we’ll now know once and for all if there really is a blacklist ban against DCE regardless of what anyone else in the Maroons hierarchy says.

He’s a better in play Kicker than Hunt, he’s a better Goal Kicker than Holmes, and he has really no other reason now to not be picked unless there really is an issue with him personally.

Why the **** did Boyd retire. He would have walked into Chambers spot for game three

Along with Hunt did Wallace marks his cards also tonight. 41 metres!

Tonight seems to be the night of vindication for Bennett and our selectors. All of the players we let go that people have argued we should have retained stank it up big time.

I thought Napa was a lot better tonight. He busted his gut. I had the knives out for him after game 1.
