My probable team for game 1 next year, I like our chances tbh, think we could've easily won this series 2-1 if DCE played all 3 games.

I'm becoming less of a fan of Kaufusi.

McCullough had a bog ordinary series......all it's going to take is for Granville to find some consistency and he'll be in....and A.McC will be out.

Chambers probably yes but I felt Kaufusi's lines were all over the shop in Game 3.

Cherry absolutely loves hitting his edge second rower short (Sironen has become a revelation at Manly largely because of the opportunities Cherry provides).

In Game 3 almost every time we went to the right Fus was about as deep as the center instead of being flat and ready to run decoy or hit Maloney on the short ball. Without Fus being on the short ball line it made that whole side relatively easy to defend by simply sliding.

I recall a couple of other times where Fus ran back inside Cherry leaving him with no options other than Chambers and a 3-3 situation.

And when he did hit him short he ran sideways instead of through the line... he had Maloney across from him and he made him look like Tunza was defending out there at times.

Hess pulled off a great run and almost scored by just running straight through Maloney... he's a dead set liability out there and we struggled to exploit it all series

Funny thing, I've not heard a thing from the southern press about Mitchell's full on shoulder charge on Billy Slater. Has the rule changed again? Is it legal again (at least for NSW players?).

They don't deem that a shoulder charge.

Slater was running towards him, Mitchell stood his ground and braced for the impact. It's a ridiculous ruling because it's still a shoulder charge, but they have always been consistent with that.

It reflects on just how debilitated we've become from dummy half since Smith's retirement.

After watching the game a couple more times I think Glasby was very good. Certainly nothing flash but his D is soild especially his work off the ball making sure he fills the holes.

I like Glasby. He's another Dallas Johnson. He isn't flash but defensively he won't let you down.

Yeah the ticket prices are fucked , don’t know if I can be bothered going for that price but in saying that they have already sold like 35-40 k tickets already

Everything about sports is fucked these days for the common supporter. Look at the price of a jersey - absolute rort.

And if the tickets aren't bad enough, you just know the food and beverages at the ground will be horrendously overpriced.

I honestly don't know how some people, especially families, go to the footy every week.

Queensland coach Kevin Walters has reacted to a rare State of Origin series loss by axing long-serving Trevor Gillmeister and hiring some of the Maroons’ biggest names.

Gillmeister was the highest-profile casualty in sweeping staff changes for the 2019 Maroons, with Walters cutting the ex-Queensland captain as his defensive coach and recruiting Justin Hodges, Petero Civoniceva, Johnathan Thurston and Billy Slater.
Walters also dropped assistant Josh Hannay and long-time trainer Tony Spencer.
Hodges replaces Hannay as Maroons assistant and Civoniceva is the new team manager while Thurston and Slater will lend a hand at Maroons camps throughout the series.
Melbourne Storm’s Matthew Barradeen replaces Spencer as the new trainer.
Walters said he needed to take a new direction in 2019 as Queensland attempt to win back the Origin title after NSW won only their second series in 13 years this season.
“Trevor Gillmeister is a Queensland legend and Tony has worked tirelessly with the team for nearly 20 years as a trainer,” Walters said of his staff changes.
“They have been great servants, but I just felt that the time was right to get fresh faces in and around the team with the next generation of players coming through.”
Walters is focusing on his fourth season as Queensland coach after missing out on the Brisbane NRL coaching job.
Walters admitted last week that he was crestfallen to be overlooked for the Broncos gig after the NRL club opted for South Sydney’s Anthony Seibold to succeed Wayne Bennett.
