Actually I hope they win because that means every team can cheat the salary cap from now on.

Hells yes - new signings for Brisbane - all of the Kangaroos side and the Prime Ministers XIII, we'll show St Choke what a winning streak is!

I hate the Storm, I hope they get kicked out of the comp...

It's ridiculous that they are challenging their punishment, all the while knowing that they HAVE cheated, and cheated emphatically.

Classless.

I'm just going to throw Victorian league administrators in the same boat as the NSW ones. Dirty scum *****.

Pretty sure the AFL wouldn't want Cronk or Smith though. They'd offer nothing to the AFL, you only have to look at their build.

Cronk would be very good at AFL. Quick on his feet, pin point kicking. Just because you're not 6 feet tall doesn't mean you wouldn't be any good at AFL. Luke Power, Jimmy Bartel, Gary Ablett etc etc.

Melbourne Storm owners News Ltd have warned there will be consequences for any player proven to have known their NRL contract breached salary cap rules.

Stopping short of saying players aware of irregularities in their contracts would be the first shown the door in any clean-out, News spokesman Greg Baxter said the company would take a dim view.

It had been assumed the Storm's stable of superstars had no knowledge of the club's massive salary cap rort, a position News is no longer prepared to take.

Reports have suggested captain Cameron Smith had three different contracts with the club.

"We've said all along that we've not seen any evidence that players were involved," Baxter told AAP on Friday.

"Based on certain things that (News' auditor) Deloitte has reported to us, we're no longer in a position to say that with the same degree of confidence."

The Storm players, minus their State of Origin stars, met Deloitte representatives on Wednesday and were asked to provide copies of their contracts to the auditing firm next week.

The players, though, have been reluctant to do so and their managers have been examining the confidentiality agreement with Deloitte.

So how many players knew do you all think? Looks here like every player is hiding their contract...

I'd say a fair bit of the squad tbh.

Cameron SMith is gone 100% guaranteed

Any of them that are will go to Super League. NRL will refuse to register a contract for them.

The problem with the Storm delaying the decision on which contracted players they are going to let go is it is holding up other clubs from finalising their rosters because they will want to keep some cap space free to try and sign a Storm player. except they will not wait forever. meaning that once the Storm finally decide who of their contracted players they want to get rid off to get to the cap, no NRL club will have room ubder the cap forcing these released Storm players to the ESL, RU or the AFL.

Player manager Andrew Purcell says the Melbourne Storm salary cap scandal is affecting NRL players from other clubs looking to safeguard their futures.
Purcell's clientele includes Parramatta winger Eric Grothe and Penrith flyer Michael Gordon, who are both off contract at the end of the year.
And he said clubs are reluctant to commit to new deals until it's known how many players Melbourne have to get off their books to get under the salary cap for next season.

the Storm have lost a couple of players for next year but neither would have been on much at all. Tolman has already signed with the Bulldogs for next year, and Ryan Tandy has been release for the rest of 2010 to the Bulldogs. (he was apparently on minimum wage)

And both those guys need to be replaced in the Top25. Don't think it will save the Storm much.

Makes me feel very sorry for off-contract non-cheats, whose futures are up in the air because of the Storm's dramas. Adam Blair sounds likely to head to the Warriors (he said as much in the paper yesterday), but if he's proven to be in the know I doubt this will happen.

I saw part of the interview from the Storm CEO on fox sports news last night (i think he was on last nights footy show) and it just made me hate the Storm that much more.

He was talking about the cap scandal and said that IF they were found guilty by a fair and impartial process, they would be happy to hand back the trophy's

WTF, THEY HAVE ALREADY CONFESSED TO WIDE SPREAD RORTING INCLUDING BEING 700K OVER THE CAP FOR THIS YEAR.

I hate the Storm and every thing they seem to stand for

Damn the Warriors are going to have a damn good pack next year. Blair, Mateo, Rapira, Luck, Packer...

They will still be rubbish, Blair is likely to go to the Bulldogs.

Fucking bunch of idiots!!!!

I can't believe the shit that moodie was spinning.
IMPARTIAL, you cheated and robbed the entire competition for 5 years and he speaks about a fair go.

On that I can't stand when dickheads bring up the "aussie way" and a "fair go" when they are wrong, it makes me cringe big time, the aussie way would of been to not cheat and be deceptive scum bags for 5 years and never confessing till you were caught red handed.

Man I can't stand the arrogance of that pathetic club. Fair and impartial......... Hypocrites.
