Strategic Airways - Broncos Fans

Apparently the owner (from Brisbane) is a Broncos fan. I thought this was pretty cool.

It was painted last week, so I can't find a photo of it completed, I saw it today when I drove out past the aircraft.

Anyway... nice evening isn't it?

Avoiding the queues, potential delays and cramped seating that comes standard with modern day air travel, the Broncos set off for their strike mission to Townsville in the comfort of a private jet.

The 229-seat Airbus A330 has been provided by the club's corporate hospitality client Strategic Airlines, which is better known for ferrying Australian troops into Afghanistan.

I thought it was poor form them taking a private plane. I know Strategic are the ones who came to them with the offer, but especially considering how many people (and of recent times including some of their most ardent supporters) already think the Broncos are up themselves and out of touch with rest of us who pay our hard-earned so they can get paid handsomely to play footy, I just think it was a bad look - especially the news footage I saw of them at the airport and talking about it - like they were just too cool.

If you could choose your own plane or QANTAS wouldn't you? It's a brand new jet, it seriously has about 10 hours flight time on the clock!

All I'm saying is with the current climate of the fans being pretty dis-enchanted this season it had the potential to be a public relations nightmare. Fortunately for them on this occassion it wasn't.

Though the front office still act like jerks sometimes to people asking for a favour (eg a signed jersey to raise money for worthwhile cause).
