I think the tackle at the legs was pretty ordinary, but a penalty was sufficient imo.

After watching replay a couple of times, it looks like his forearm makes contact with the backside of the Souths player first before sliding down and getting him below the knee. It'd be very harsh to cop anything more than a penalty for it.

If you watch the match again you'll see a carbon copy on exactly the 20 minute mark of the first half. He should be facing 4-6 weeks on the sideline. I wonder if he'll be cited.
