Tate was a great troll player too.

At club level, there were times where he was a total spud but whenever there was a big game on, Tate would rise to the occasion.

Was great around 06 teasing my Blues supporting brethren about Tate being better than their Dally M pretender Gasnier. Mind you, they got the last laugh when we were at one of the Tri Nations games that year. Game had basically been over at half-time and when Tupou scored late, we thought it was all over and decided to head out. Of course, moments later bloody Tate scores one of the best team tries you'll ever see and I missed it!

Still get grief for that.

It was like my own J. Walter Weatherman lesson. I've never left a game early since.
