Hindsight is 20/20 guys. Its easy to say now that Priddis was a better option than Carlaw or Meyers.

True, and it's in hindsight Bennett says he erred.

If Ryan hadn't been so injury prone and had kicked on as many expected, and Meyers and Carlaw continued their development from 2001 we wouldn't be talking about this.

anyone could see that Priddis should have been one of the first players re-signed. hooker, half, fullback are spots you need top talent, and it didnt come any better than Priddis.

he even said he'd take pay cuts to stay, but no, WB knew better apparently.

Bingo! Mick Ryan had 10 other clubs chasing his signature. He was hottest young player coming through the ranks. From all reports the Storm offered him double what the Broncos did but he elected to stay. Even Shane Richardson who was CEO of the Panthers at the time said Ryan was their #1 target but got lucky when they picked up Priddisnstead

Due to a mixture of reasons Mick Ryan didnt turn into the player everyone expected. You can win them all!

Maybe it's one of the reasons WB had a relucatance to give rookies a go in his last couple of years at Red Hill?

Yep you only have to look at how Bellamy has kept his 1,7,9 and built around them. Ah well, WB knows he farked up and to be honest we did very well to make the finals year after year without decent halfback and hooker options.

exactly but really owned us in the big kahuna games as well.

Its a 50/50 call.

But it did suck how we coudlnt find one even after Ryan didnt work out. We had Swain but he went , then Motu Tony which was a bit of a wtf decision in the first place... but yeh...
