Tigers x 2
Dragons x 2
Titans x 2
Cowboys x 2
Eels x 1

Quite a telling story, we're good against other Queensland teams, and the bottom 3 teams.

Next year might be a little rough.

Wow, that's depressing. The only two non-awful teams are the Titans and the Cowboys. The Titans aren't exactly good either, and the Cowboys have been terrible for most of the season.

It underlines why so many fans are frustrated with the current squad - even when we have won, the victories haven't really been against quality teams.

Mind you, I never understood the mentality of not wanting your team to win.

No one said that here though?

I generally always want to see us win, I've even been calculating ways for us to get in the 8...but if us missing the 8 gets rid of Griffin for example, I think it would be for the greater good.

Mmm, you might want to review Rabbir's second post Alec. Isn't the first time he's made that stab and had a go at supporters for hoping they achieve everything they can.

That attitude is entirely selfish.

I must have missed something he said earlier, because I just read that as him wanting us to make the finals.

It was a similar story last year. I could be wrong bit I think Souths were the only side we beat in the top 8 in 2012. It's been years since we've had a win that made the rest of the competition sit up and take notice.

The Titans are the only team we've beaten that have been competitive this year and both the wins were convincing but we always beat them and the other teams in that lot.

As mentioned earlier, this is a very telling post.

It is no secret that a modern day sports team is very much a business. If most businesses performed this poorly, there would be either wholesale changes or the business would shut. The Broncos are fortunate in having an amazing fan base of support to keep the payroll being paid.

Still, major and not minor changes need addressing which hopefully will be done quickly. The addition of a couple of game changers will help plenty but to be the best you have to beat the best and that lists shows the club is really far off.

Personally, I think it is time to change captain and coaches. My major issue with Griffin is that there has been too much of a lack of panic. Before winning a few games, they had lost 20-27 games over a two year stretch.

And let me be clear, I do want to see the Broncos win EVERY game on field. I think a fresh new change in approach will yield some results that will propel them forward to a winning side. Hell, with a a team made up of Hoffman, Glen, Parker, Gillette, sometimes Hodges, Hennant, Moose, and Reed to name a few, there should be a hell of a lot of winning with some key additions.

I said it in a different thread, but I think next year is make or break for Griffin. If we get Barba and/or Milford, even just Barba, combined with the rest of this squad, should easily be enough to get into the finals next year. If we can't, then something else is seriously wrong and things will need to be looked at.

We really are lacking the big game players in key positions. We have been in the position to win games against the Storm, Rabbits, Warriors, Knights and Dogs. We all know what we are lacking but we can't do a lot to fix it at the moment.

So your happy to sit on your hands for another year and hope that Griffin miraculously becomes a good coach?

And by potentially signing two players we will easily get into the finals?

You think another year should tell us if something is seriously wrong? Do you work in the recruiting department for Brisbane?

Do you always make points with sarcastic questions? (Adore the irony)

I said, "Should easily be enough to get into the finals next year." Important word there is should. Griffin coached us last year and if I remember correctly we were going pretty well till the back end of the season.

We lack strike players and strike power out wide. It's no secret. Our forwards are up and down, which to me is an attitude thing.

I don't see that signing a new coach in the off season is going to change much. There need to be some fundamental changes in the off season with regards to fitness particularly, also attacking set plays and defensive structure. We will see if Griffin can change and adapt, if not, there's the door, champ. I'm happy to see how we go through at least the first half of next season, yes. Attitude will be an easy thing to determine fairly quickly.

That's a top 8 side IMO. If he'd made the call to punt Norman and Wallace earlier, we're looking at finals footy afaic. I'm still struggling to understand why he didn't do it earlier....

Am I right in saying that we actually had a relatively "easy" draw for this season? The Rabbitohs, Manly and Roosters only once and the bottom three sides twice, I'm actually not even sure how we beat the Cowboys and Titans twice.

We have zero excuses for this season and I sincerely hope that the Bronco's management know this when Anthony Goofin starts playing the blame game during his performance review.
