Tedesco backflips on the Raiders

Look, all I know is that the hypocritical garbage currently circulating the GH is comedy gold.

I have to laugh at the conspiracy theories at the GH.

the most common being that Ayoub is basically trying to destroy the Raiders and getting his clients massive deals in the process.

despite the fact that it has been widely reported that these players are turning down far bigger deals at the Raiders to sign elsewhere. (the media is obviously part of the conspiracy against the Raiders)

The reality is that it would actually be in Ayoubs best interest to get his players to sign with the Raiders because his commissions would be higher given the overs the Raiders are offering

I'd feel disappointed but every keen NRL follower knows its a possibility. I wouldnt call it a dick move though as i have no way of knowing the personal situations of these players.

Look at Milford, there were many on here getting ready to accept the announcement he was staying in Canberra when the rumours of $1M salaries came out. None of us would have liked it but those are the current rules.

Obviously there are flaws with the current system and the round 13 opt out rule.

However, it's common knowledge. Clubs shouldn't be so eager to trumpet their recruitment coups until it's rock solid. Sure, it generates some good publicity when initially announced, but they take a big hit when it doesn't pan out. Surely this would be common sense?

From a player perspective, I don't have a problem with it. It may put a few noses out of joint, but they have every right to operate within the set guidelines, in the interest of securing the best deal for themselves. If Milford hypothetically walked, I'd be disappointed, but bear him no ill will.

I honestly have no sympathy.

Their CEO is a ****. His brother was a ****. Their new coach is a ****. I wish them failure, and bankruptcy.

No one wants to live in that shit hole.

Plus if any league supports have two heads it's theirs.

Hey Gents..

What a fucking turn of events huh?

We are in a world of hurt and personally I see no way we will come out of this. We are fucked.

I just spent a mint on merch for my newborn son too and chances are the team will be packed up and relocated by the time he is ten.

Anyway.. Good luck for Monday night, I expect you guys to bag a thousand on us and **** I hope so.. I want half that side gone. I don't care if Bill Tupou starts at half back as long as there is no McCrone, Campese, RR, Buttsy, White and Shillo..

Also tell Ezekual to be kind they are hurting and it's my job to annoy the shit out of them, who is that punk anyway?

The thing with Tedesco, I don't mind there being a cool-off period for the players as they might sign with a club for good money and things may happen when the player may have the right to change their mind. I don't mind that.

I do have a problem with it being universal and dragging out as long as it did with Milford.

By the same token, I also have a problem with clubs signing a good year in advance.

I'd much rather see these type of problems dealt with in the off-season. I think it'd really spice it up for fans, bring the League more coverage during an otherwise dead period where attentions waver to the cricket and maybe generate a lot of buzz heading into next season.

Canberra is an isolated location but I also wonder if Ricky and his constant moaning has played a role.
If you were a young player would you want to play under a guy that could tear strips off you at any point?
I think the culture the great coaches build in 2014 is based on firm rules but also individual respect.

You're one of the good ones WOTN. You know, you'd be welcome as a Bronco's fan. You know if you don't like the sound of the Perth Raiders.

I wonder who Ezekual is too...

I hate you Wormy. You're interfering with my amusement at the GH's and Furner's costs. Stop fucking making sense!

The culture and atmosphere at the club is so toxic, everyone is avoiding it like the pest. And as long as the blame is put somewhere else (Ayoub is a good one nowadays), it's not going to change.

With a bif of luck, you might be able to support the Brisbane Raiders soon...

I don't even dislike the Raiders but I've been grinning like a Cheshire cat since I found out

It was funny at first, but this victims mentality that the Raiders and many of their fans have adopted is starting to get annoying.

Having a go at the NRL for not helping them out.

Wanting Cap concessions to help them lure players.

Claiming Ayoub is out to get them, despite the fact that it is in his best interest to convince his clients to sign with the Raiders, because of the money they are offering.

They need to have a look at who their coach is and who is running the place and they will get their answer of why they struggle to lure players there.

Absolutely this. This all day. Should we send the GH a friendly telegram from BHQ informing them of our collective opinion?

This, +1000

Get rid of the r13 rule, I for one would rather an end of season transfers window, not to dissimilar to the EPL.

Would make great coverage, players are signed sealed and delivered!

Nothing will be effective unless they have a window and penalise agents (threaten deregistration, fines) for breaching strict embargo provisions.

Whatever the system is now, it is retarded.

Why did Proctor, Ennis, Tedesco, Milford all backflip?

One team town controlled by one family since inception despite repeated failures... You wouldn't see it in a corporate world.

It does seem that Tedesco was promised that he would be joining the other three at Canberra.
