What's wrong with the viewing public? There's far more to the picketing spectrum than what you see in an Australian summer. Tendulkar is the best bat of the modern era by what is now a solid margin. Lara comes in a 2. Those positions are undisputed.

From there its down to opinion. I have Gecko pushing the West Indian in a few years and Kallis and Ponting thereabouts.
