We don't really have an all rounder to replace Watson with especially since he was opening. Going in with 4 bowlers is a worry especially since Siddle is the leader of the attack.

Disgraceful if true. I am heading out on Saturday as well but will be very disappointed if Cutting doesn't play.

I am telling you the drums are beating loudly for Starc to get selected ahead of Cutting. If they don't pick Cutting this test they never will. Cutting was injured last summer but the year before was the leading wicket taker in the Shield. This year he is basically leading wicket taker in the shield with a far superior strike rate and bowling average to all other bowlers. Must be picked.

Starc should be picked before Cutting IMO. He has a great record at the Gabba and a bouncy pitch will suit him.

If the selectors had any balls they wouldn't play Siddle and roll with Cutting, Pattinson and Starc. They are the three to deserve to be there.

Not too sure what happened to Copeland though.

Well you are an in idiot. Cutting bowls on the Gabba every 2nd game and has an exceptional record at the Gabba. Plus he can bat and isn't from NSW. He also doesn't have Acne scarring all over his face. :ranting:

I see the appeal of Starc, he is a left armer and is another Mitchell but seriously Cutting has been the standout bowler in the Shield and if he doesn't get picked this test he never will. I am probably a bit biased on this matter but I am also right. :haha:

I'll be just as interested in the performances of Hughes and Khawaja with the bat. This is their real chance to make that big big score and stamp their position in the side. Like I said in the other thread, Khawaja just needs that breakthrough innings, then greatness awaits him. Hughes doesn't look as naturally talented obviously, but has the makings of a really solid opening batsman. Can be aggressive when he needs to be, which usually gets the better of him admittedly. But if he can learn to overcome that I see a bright future.

Would also be good to see Warner perform well so that when Watto comes back they can look to play him down the order so we can make more use of his bowling.

Massive Khawaja fan he is all class. Hughes needs to prove that his average of 50 in first class cricket is no fluke. He is a fighter though. I really hope Warner develops into a test match opener. Could be fun watching that.
