How hard would it be right now to be a Bulldogs fan, Anasta, Asotasi, Price, O'Meley, Mason, Myles all jump shipped. Reni talking about a release recently, and now speculation Sonny Bill is fed up with the club because he believes is worth more than the 400k the bulldogs are paying him [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. [icon_drun ..

I tell you what- Bulldogs are a joke of a club at the moment and I wonder if this is the turn of the tide for a successful bulldogs of the future.. could be our next Souths [icon_lol1.

Seeing shit like this hit the fan elsewhere makes me even more proud to be apart of such a successful, professional and great family culture that the Broncos employ.

It comes as no surprise (at least to me) that all this drama about SBW comes after he switched his manager to the Mundines' manager

but i was reading how they believe that SBW is worth a million dollars a season. SO in effect what they are saying is that SBW is worth about 2 Darren Lockyers. [icon_non

Now if i had the choice between 1 SBW and 2 Lockyers, then it is a no braine who I and probably 99% of people would choose. Actually if i had the choice between 1 \Llockyer and 1 SBW, i would take Lockyer every time

It all went down hill for them since the salary cap rort and the rape allegations and they've never really been able to dig themselves out of it yet.

Downhill? They won a premiership after both events [icon_lol1.

Let's face it, the Bulldogs from 2002-2008 SHOULD have won at least 3 premierships IMO. They've always had the players but always under-achieved.

The same could be said about the broncos, roosters, dragons and eels in that time period, but thats the beauty of the salary cap!!!

Frank knows he'll cop a lot of flack for this, but if the Broncos were given the choice at the present time of Sonny Bill and Lockyer, Frank would be very tempted to take Williams. Lockyers past his prime unfortunately, and his knees just seem like theyre never gonna get better.

Maybe past his prime and his knee is causing some grief, but I would still take Locky.

SBW is younger and has already more injuries than Locky, his legs are stuffed.

No thanks to SBW.

I'd take SBW if the arrogant, big headed, loose-disciplined culture of the Bulldogs he has was left behind. You can take the man from the dogs, but you cant take the dog outta the man ;) And for 400k a season? Probably not.

If Folau is worth 400K, SBW is easilly worth even more than that. He used to be overrated because of all his injuries, but now he is pretty easilly the best backrower in the world.

But is Folau worth that much? Didn't Cullen say we were playing him substantially less than that? But I agree, SBW would be worth considerably more to a team than Folau.

I think if we have signed him for considerably less than that, we wouldn't be losing players like Ennis and Stagg, especially considering how many we lost last year, and some players like Carroll retiring this year. Who knows though.

Depends, 10 years from SBW is better than two years from Locky, but thats a really stupid hypothetical situation imo.
Back to the topic, and yes, whatever is going on at the dogs, I would be concerned if I was a dogs fan.

Even with Locky's knees, he is far les injury prone than ole' medical Bill Willams.

This season is the most games I've seen him play. TBH, he doesn't overly inspire me either, I'd be chasing a Thaiday-style 2ndrower over him anytime.

They were saying SBW is as good as Tallis was, I haven't seen much to suggest thats true.

I won't jump down your throat for it. Let's be honest, even if his knees improve, Locky doesn't have more than another two seasons in him.

SBW, however, potentially has 10+ years left in the game. IMO, SBW is inconsistent mainly due to injuries etc, but he always puts in plenty of effort. If there's a chance he could stay relatively injury-free, he'd be a great asset to any team.

No flak from me, Locky is undoubtedly in his twilight years. If a great young player was on the market, and I was Bruno, I'd suggest Locky chat to Wigan pronto.

Not sure I'd necessarily pick SBW. I still think he's grossly overrated, but he does have potential to be a pretty handy back rower in the future.
