Cook will bat for a draw first. Looks like the pitch is better for batting today.
Lynn doesn't deserve a Test spot.
09/10- 220 runs at 36.6
10/11- 641 runs at 53.4
11/12- 256 runs at 19.6
12/13- 570 runs at 71.2
This season average wise is starting to get to where it needs to be to win a spot it's inflated by his knock against England. He still hasn't scored 100 for the Bulls but has scored four 50's this year.
He hasn't got a big 100 since March 2011 against Victoria. He started last season unable to make the Bulls Shield side.
He doesn't do the two things selectors want to see- big 100's and consistent 1000 run years.
His average of 40.5 for the Bulls doesn't deserve to be rewarded with a spot.
To make the Test side you should be averaging 60 for Qld and scoring 1000 runs year.
Just sayingLet's hope England as per this series 5 out all out
36 in his first season is fine, 50 in his second, struggled to make the Bulls last year due to coming back from serious injury. 70 this year study a ton against a touring national side. What is wrong with that?
ideally all of or bats in and out of the side should be averaging 60 but this is not our golden age, we're almost ten years past it. Low to mid 40s is the best we've got now.
Some value for the poms IMO @ $3.90
'Fine' do you really think fine should get you playing Test cricket? Why reward mediocracy? What would Morkel and Steyne do to fine?
He was dropped at the start of last year- injury was later.
He made a 100 against a touring team which is great but his job is the Bulls and he can't get 100 for two years for them.
Clark's average was not great. Neither was Warner's.He had more than one injury. Who else do you recommend by the way? Because if you are suggestin Doolan, his record is not as good as Lynn. Aside from Hughes (who I'd have in the test side already anyway but as an opener), no one young has as good a record as Lynn. Maddinson and Silk would be close as is Cosgrove but he won't get selected. So who do you suggest?
It has been a successful series, but a better team would've wiped the floor with us. Too often saved by Haddin and the bowlers. The bowling's been great but we need somthing more solid in the top six . Nows the time to do it .i love Watson potential but he has never delivered on it . He is no Jaques Kallis.
