The Ashes 2013/14

I would be very keen too but the poor guy comes from the wrong state when it comes to cricket selections

What a disgrace that this is actually a valid factor that counts against players who wear maroon caps

While Lynn has been in very good form recently and I'm sure he's in the mix, I don't think he deserved to be in this Ashes squad after his horrid 2012/13 season where he could barely make the Sheffield Shield side.

The public has completely gotten behind the loyalty shown by the selectors and the removal of the rotation policy, why should they deviate from it after one ordinary day of a successful series?

Hopefully Lynn backs his shield form up after the BBL and is in the runs next year so he really pushes for selection. Half a good season is not enough to get into the test team.

I think you guys should look at Lynn's FC record, it's one of the best in the country at present. He is more than just half a season of good form. He struggled last season as he was coming back from an injury.

He hasn't had several good seasons of shield cricket in a row though. That is what I am after.

Well ideally yes, but who other than Hughes has? I believe Hughes should not have been dropped in England.

I'd say Doolan is ahead of Lynn in that regard. I'd be stoked if Lynn got picked but I'd like to see more sustained form from all our younger batsmen before they are picked.

Bailey looks likely to be gone unless he scores well in the 2nd innings at the MCG. Very interesting times a head for the team.

It has been a successful series, but a better team would've wiped the floor with us. Too often saved by Haddin and the bowlers. The bowling's been great but we need somthing more solid in the top six . Nows the time to do it .i love Watson potential but he has never delivered on it . He is no Jaques Kallis.

How did Michael "angry gnome" Slater do a segment on blow ups and not include any of his own legendary exploits?

Doesnt want to talk about his personal crisis I would think. That's how Langer became a pernament opening batsmen.

I think England finally has us bent over the couch here - hot day, Harris hurt, good pitch.. We'll be chasing a big score in day or so from now

Looks like we have played England into form

The worry for Australia is that unless they shore up the top order this is how things will go. England dropped this series in the field. I love to believe this is a new dawn for Aus. I think the bowling and fielding side is top 2 . The batting side is 4-5.

I like it Socky. I'd be very inclined to take a punt on Lynn though to be honest.

Lynn doesn't deserve a Test spot.

09/10- 220 runs at 36.6
10/11- 641 runs at 53.4
11/12- 256 runs at 19.6
12/13- 570 runs at 71.2

This season average wise is starting to get to where it needs to be to win a spot it's inflated by his knock against England. He still hasn't scored 100 for the Bulls but has scored four 50's this year.

He hasn't got a big 100 since March 2011 against Victoria. He started last season unable to make the Bulls Shield side.

He doesn't do the two things selectors want to see- big 100's and consistent 1000 run years.

His average of 40.5 for the Bulls doesn't deserve to be rewarded with a spot.

To make the Test side you should be averaging 60 for Qld and scoring 1000 runs year.

Our batsmen have really put us in a pickle here. We should be still batting but instead we are bowling again. A very good test for our team coming up.
