Maxwell coming in to cover for an opener instead of Renshaw pretty much signals that Matt isn't getting back in any time soon. He needs to buckle down and score some first class runs for a couple of years before he's considered again I reckon.

The current climate of this team is that if he got a score against WA this week he could be back for Adelaide. Bancroft got picked on three good games after averaging 28 last season and Handscomb last year picked after scoring 200. Renshaw himself got 100 last round before the team was picked and was in for Adelaide.
