SPOILER The Brisbane Broncos are winning the 2025 NRL Premiership

If we can get through the opening 10 rounds without much going wrong (especially in the way of injuries; **** yourself, 2024), and come out the other end with a few good wins, I think we will give the comp a very strong shake.

The boys are starting to mature now, Carrigan, Staggs, and Haas among others are only now just entering the prime of their careers, Reyno and Hunt are staring retirement in the face so they will be keen as hell to go out winners, Walsh is still young and already a megastar (for good and for ill), and we finally have a no bullshit premiership winning coach back at the helm.

Plenty of positives to latch on to, but one thing we desperately need that we have lacked recently, is some luck.
We had luck in 2023, but we also had some great depth. Its too bad we couldn't finsh it off.

2024 was weird, because we had most of our team back for certain chunks of the year, but we didn't really get much better during those periods.

Momentum is everything in this comp, but it's a delicate balance. If you go into the Origin window spluttering with a 6/4 or 7/5 record, you will not come out the other end in great shape. You have to have some points in the bank to cushion against the impact and the power to rest blokes that need it.

It's possible to overdo it as well. The Dragons can go 7 from 8 to start 2017 and then completely collapse because they blew their juice early, and that is on the coach not recognizing positive results and easing off the peddle at the right time.
