Plenty.Was there any debate now?

Sounds promising but I guess it means Penrith will be playing all their games away from home for a while. The plan is to knockdown what they have and increase it to 25-30k depending on what gets approved, they wouldn't have it in any other location anyway it's right next to the leagues club which is bloody massive the size of a casino and then some.
Im surprised it's taken that long tbh, not like they are strapped for cash but the stadium at current is very old school with big chunks of paddock on the ends of both sides.
Penrith Stadium set for major rebuild early as 2022

That saying a report in 2019 said Penriths revenue was in the $140 Million range with the same amount in assets(Given how they constantly keep expanding the club and making new ones It's only growing) but the football department is losing atleast $5 Million a season, not that it matters to them anyway, but starting a new NRL team will have it's issues but I think the Dolphins are in a better position then any new club has been to handle it.
The crowds and membership numbers in the first season will be interesting.
I appreciate all that & it's why they were picked, but they still aren't the richest, some sydney leagues clubs have $100m+ in assets, Panthers leagues club own a mini city & have assets upward of $250m. Usually the NRL clubs are considered a separate business from the leagues club, with the league club providing a grant each year. The Dolphins as an NRL business are starting from scratch.Look at what the Dolphins are raking in purely as an ISC club. They have more assests and a bigger turnover than the Broncos ( Broncos assets are valued at about $60 million, Dolphins are about $100 million ) as it stands, their leagues club alone turns over about $35 million a year. They own commercial buildings, leisure complex, a shopping center plus they apparently have at least $20 million cash in the bank, they are minted. I think you will see them go from strength to strength now they are an NRL club.
Apart from Penrith I don't think too many have the financial backing of Redcliffe. There are a few who have wealthy individuals like Politis, but the clubs themselves don't actually make money like Redcliffe do. The only other club I can think of that has a good base of assets is Cronulla, but they don't make the kind of money the Dolphins do. Maybe you can point me in the right direction with some of these Sydney clubs because I honestly haven't seen too many of them as well run as RedcliffeI appreciate all that & it's why they were picked, but they still aren't the richest, some sydney leagues clubs have $100m+ in assets, Panthers leagues club own a mini city & have assets upward of $250m. The Broncos aren't an example of Wayne's success of building a club?Plenty.
Perfect.
By the end of 2024, there will be no debate as to whether or not Bennett can set a club up for success or failure.
I guess it really depends who you ask.The Broncos aren't an example of Wayne's success of building a club?
If Bennett is overseeing all football aspects of the formation of the club; head coach, recruitment and assembling the football department to ensure instant and ongoing success like the article indicates, the proof really will be in the pudding.Doubtful. There will always be debate, no matter which way it goes in Redcliffe.
I’ll drink to thatNot gonna lie, it’s been pretty great watching Storm, Bunnies, and Titans fans panicking in comment sections every time Tino, Munster, Grant, and Walker are linked to the Phins. Watching Tino get poached would be especially rewarding.
That’s because the media usually only report their football club finances- separate from their leagues club. The leagues clubs support the NRL football clubs with annual grants, usually to cover any loses each year. But they have separate management, boards & governance, the leagues clubs are accountable to members & can't just spend all their money on the nrl side.Apart from Penrith I don't think too many have the financial backing of Redcliffe. Unless the people at the top at the Dolphins are inept and looking at what they have done financially as an ISC club I don't think they are, they are only going making more money imo.

Its all freely available from the leagues clubs annual reports;
Parramatta (130m+ assets, 82m+ rev), Canterbury $230m+ assets, $86m rev), Easts ($157m assets, $45m rev), Wests newcastle ($300m assets, $143m rev), Wests Magpies ($120m assets, $130m rev).
The dolphins LC will make more, but they are essentially backers of a startup- with an annual nrl grant of $13m the only revenue guaranteed. They have to pay for coaching staff, admin, marketing, suncorp lease which runs at about $250k per game, which means they probably won't make money on the gate until the stadium is half full, etc.
Dolphins must be in a very strong position to have cash reserves of over $20 million as an ISC club. I'm not really seeing anything from other clubs to make me think a reasonably successful Dolphins won't easily be able to compete with anyone on a financial basis. Plenty of NRL clubs aren't run anywhere near as well as Redcliffe are. Without going into it all in depth, revenue and assets don't mean a great deal in real terms if you are outspending your revenue. That’s because the media usually only report their football club finances- separate from their leagues club. That situation if correct might incentivise them to play more games at Moreton Daily stadium.suncorp lease which runs at about $250k per game, which means they probably won't make money on the gate until the stadium is half full, etc.
I suspect they will play as many games in Redcliffe as the NRL allows them to do so...That situation if correct might incentivise them to play more games at Moreton Daily stadium.
Can’t see why the nrl would care unless they’ve got some sort of sneaky deal with nein/Qld govt.I suspect they will play as many games in Redcliffe as the NRL allows them to do so...

Much smaller, about $15m rev & the same in assets.just out of interest how does the Broncos Leagues club compare to those (and the Dolphins)?
