I'm calling a Storm bluff on this one, I hope we are in Grant's ear still.

I think it's more beneficial to us if these guys arent coming off contract until 2024.

Dolphins wont be able to sit there and not spend their $10m and how likely are they to be signing 'foundation' players on 12 month contracts to have space available for the following year.

The problem for the dolphins is yes they have 10 million to spend..... but every, single, player agent knows they have 10 million to spend. Most players will ask for more then what they're worth or their manager isn't a good manager. Bennett and the lure of home may get a few home on normal price, but not the marquee players. They have lost the "we don't have any more to give" bargaining tool.

I don't think it's going to be anything else. I'm 100% sure they have no intention of simply calling themselves the Dolphins.

Trust me, they wont. I think they have just got their backs up at the moment with all the attention over the name.

He cleverly added a caveat today ( not sure if it was in that press conference or somewhere else ) though by saying something along the lines of they are still willing to talk about it. I reckon Wayne will get in their ear personally.

I didn't get the sense that they won't add a location, I thought that was more about potentially changing from Dolphins to something else like Pelicans or Vlandys-pockets.

Also, the whole thing was so ridiculously hard to hear, it is hard to be sure about anything. The sound quality of that conference was disgraceful and so fitting for the NRL.

I got the feeling they each had a few mics and some junior tech was trying to swap between them.

I still laugh at their backdrop - you'd think by now they'd have bought a proper plasterboard one instead of the curtain. Its a bit wizard of oz, visions of Wayne popping out and all.

Fox reporting like its just going to be just 'Dolphins'. If so, it's the dumbest thing I've ever heard...
