I think it’s a great idea and I think he would be an amazing mentor for any young man, but the islander boys specifically could really get a lot out of him being more involved.

Oh exactly mate. A man of few words is Petero. He would only have to look at someone a certain way and it would be scary enough lol. Certainly would have a few of our powderpuff forwards shitting themselves if they continued putting in half-arsed efforts at training and in the heat of battle.

Yup, Chris 'Gronk' Walker it was. I'm surprised Redcliffe haven't snapped Petero up to be part of their push for their NRL expansion bid. I would think he would be the 'face' of all the marketing etc.

But yeah, am pretty sure we will have big Petero back in our colours at Kev's side ready for pre-season training. Redcliffe's loss, our gain!

Bit of goss guys, and this I can confirm 100%. Kev is currently collaborating with former Broncos Director of Performance, Kelvin Giles. For any of you younger blokes, Giles is an extremely highly experienced and qualified high performance trainer and goes back many many years with WB and the club, where he spent 6 years whipping lazy bastards into peak physical condition. He has his own consultancy these days, Movement Dynamics. He will be putting together Kev's high performance team. This guy is a fitness guru in terms of elite athletic performance.

This is a really smart move by Kev.

One of the greatest people to have played rugby league, not just as a player, but as a person as well. A true legend, and a gentleman.
