These are the moments the media should be writing about more often. But these moments very rarely get a mention from them.

I actually have a bit of a crush on Mahalia Murphy. She played for the AUS women's team last year. This year she's playing rugby 7s. Seems like a pretty cool person too.

Beau Ryan is a pretty cool guy. I actually loved his early Beau Knows work.

So, she hasn't died yet apparently.

It looks like Beau's visit has given her the strength to fight so she can meet Inglis when he comes back from QLD.

I know. Ever the cynic, I really hope her situation was not simply exaggerated in order to emotionally-blackmail these players.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, to be honest.

I hope that wasn't the case. Bit fucked up if it is.

I dunno. She doesn't look like she's in the greatest of health.

I thought it...you said it. Thanks.

I don't doubt she is battling cancer.

I just had some doubts about the time frame that was said in the post. If it was exaggerated to get one of them there straight away, to me that's a little fucked up.

But I would like to think that wasn't the case.

I doubt there was any exaggeration. Being told you have hours to live doesn't mean you only have x amount of time left, it only means at the time that you are likely to die unless there is a change. How many times have you read about someone at death's door making a miraculous recovery? Medical science is still inexact, there are many factors that can lead to a recovery.

Suggests to me the "4 hours to live" was their interpretation, not what a doc said.

Its pretty tough to tell how long they have left until they fall unconscious and don't wake up anymore which in terminal cases can happen pretty quick or slowly. It looks like they are up to that stage so yeah, it pretty much could happen at any time.

That's what I mean. "Any time". Not "4 hours".

Look, I get it, it's a desperate situation, literally someone's dying wish, and I'm sure Beau Ryan was happy to do it. Her friend probably just said what she thought would get the best reaction. I just think it's a bit, I dunno, dishonest, and taking advantage of someone whose public profile means he's pretty much obliged to drop everything. And what about Inglis? How does he look in all this?

Even though it seems he genuinely had no way of getting there "within 4 hours".

Yeah this. People can hold on for a miraculous amount of time as well. We've had people through here that have been told person x has a month to live, 6 months later still kicking.

Yep....pretty much. Ryan was scammed, even if it was for a good cause.

Imagine having a friend so loyal they have the gall to ring someone famous.

Because their just so desperate to make your last hours/days happy.
