Short drop outs and kick offs need a nerf. Maybe 20M+Not sure if anyone has said this yet but I can 100% see a rule change be introduced to discourage short dropouts
Yeah I was thinking about this the other night. I don't enjoy watching teams scrap for the ball at an imaginary 10m plain. I do enjoy watching teams kick behind the goal line and compete that way. If teams keep doing short kickoffs we'll see less and less kicks behind the line.Short drop outs and kick offs need a nerf. Maybe 20M+
I don't really see an issue with the short drop outs. Not sure if anyone has said this yet but I can 100% see a rule change be introduced to discourage short dropouts
I wouldn’t hate if the defending team could touch the ball before the 10m line. That would make it interesting but would discourage the short drop out I guess. Not sure if anyone has said this yet but I can 100% see a rule change be introduced to discourage short dropouts

Agree 100%, I think 20m is a more appropriate target. The short drop out is like the 3 pointer in Basketball, once people worked out the maths that it is much more worth going for it your just going to see it being spammed more and more(because the long drop kick will still result in them being on your line within a few tackles if there is no mistake anyway plus the added fatigue of extra running to defensive line).
I think because it's off the back of a mistake it does feel cheap in comparison and overtime it's only going to get easier for the kicking side as it gets more ingrained how to do it as players train for it well before first grade, because the other team can't get the same amount of players to the area being kicked as they still have to cover other parts of the field incase they go for a long kick to bounce out for a scrum.
Could just change the drop out to a reverse 20m tapThe short drop out is like the 3 pointer in Basketball, once people worked out the maths that it is much more worth going for it your just going to see it being spammed more and more(because the long drop kick will still result in them being on your line within a few tackles if there is no mistake anyway plus the added fatigue of extra running to defensive line).

I meant the team defending the kick, receiving it mr in other words. I phrased it badly.Defending team will just drop kick it a foot ahead of themselves and dive on it regaining possession
I know what you were going for but I think that is too easy an out anyway
I have a better idea, Corey.
If a team wins, they get the odds that are being offered for that team to win in points. So if the Tigers are playing the Panthers, the odds would be something like $12 for the tigers and $1.03 for the panthers. If the tigers win, they get 12 points. If the panthers win, they get 1.03 points. And if the team is winning at half time but loses, they get a bonus bet to put on another match and if they can correctly select the winner of that match, they also get those points as well.
I'm going to put it to PVL. He is keen to grow the gambling dollar. Think of the opportunities to get a bookmaker on board to sponsor the idea.
Oh right yeah I get yaI meant the team defending the kick, receiving it mr in other words. I phrased it badly.
