This should be banned... *pic*

BREAKING NEWS! The Cuban tae kwon do competitor who was banned for life for kicking the ref has been seen at Storm training during the finals, working with the outside backs on techniques for kicking!

So far my vote is going towards the Crane, but I think it's still good to throw some others in for good measure:

The Angus

When I saw that smarmy little bastard Slater do that I got very angry. It's disgusting and in no way should it be legal. I don't give 2 shits whether its not against the rules to do that. IF you DO, then you are a grade A Bastard. You know the possible outcomes so why the **** would you do it?

I really hate the "it's not against the rules" defence that has been thrown around on here. The lack of sportsmanship that exists everywhere these days is just amazing to me.

In unrelated news, Billy Slater announced as new spokesman for the Slip'n'Slide...

Funny, it's exactly how he saved a try against us when Hannant was surely over.

omg u ppl suck lol. never stop whinging about melbourne do you

I was waiting for that. However Queenslander, all this naming stuff is quite obviously done in jest.

naming it is, but the first few posters are actually complaining about the act itself. ppl like slater and sing save so many tries by sliding in feet first to get under the ball and hold the attacker up. nothing wrong with it

There would be something wrong with it if he collected him in the head. Contact wih the head using the feet? How is that not illegal?

I've said it elsewhere, he might not mean to collect him in the head, but if someone unintentionally collects someone in the head with a swinging arm, its still illegal.

I know you can hold up the ball with any part of your body. But what was he trying to achieve here?

That was rubbish from Slater and extremely dangerous. I think he caught Robinson on the arm judging by the numerous replays. Can't believe none of the commentators picked up on it.

Agreed.

In order to create the necessary media outcry, we need to give it a catchy name.

I vote - the Ninja.

[icon_lol1. Yep, as you can see, I was dead serious! icon_thumbs_u

QUEENSLANDER chill dude... I pick on Melbourne cause I can and I don't like them. And cause well they suck a le poo poo.

Yes I was serious when I posted this, the naming this is a bit of fun.... you know fun right... well throw a name into the hat.

Also I wouldn't care if it was Lockyer himself doing the sliding, I still would have posted this if I stumbled across the photo.

Love to see QLD'ers reactions if Stewart manages to do this in cover during next year's origin series and ends up opening the face of Slater/Inglis. I mean, I know the inherant screaming, bawling, boot stamping and rush to the hospital to check up on them would be the first lot, but what would he do after that?

I agree totally with the original intent of the topic and that is to decry dangerous play. I saw that on the news this morning and my first reaction was "OMG, lucky he didn't collect him in the head and cause some serious damage - surely that can't be legal". Again, I don't think he intended to inflict injury and know he was trying to stop the ball getting down and does this exact slide feet first to get your legs under the ball thing quite often to save tries - but seriously he is going to cause some major damage to someone one day.

Was it Aeetee who posted that series of pics with the long slip-n-slide down the hill? How about the Aeetee.
