This should be banned... *pic*

I like this man... hahah.

But there is only on Aeetee and he don't wanna be linked to anything Billy Slater.... ever.

:-)

Pretty sure Shaun Berrian got charged with kicking for the same sort of act, except it was a full on fly kick, and not a sliding boot.

And while we are on rule changes, obstructing attacking chasers on a bomb needs to change, Matai was full on shoulder-checking and changing his line on Folau. Pretty mcuh the only way he could stop Israel because he looked like a goose all day.

Quite a few players do it, none of them travelling at a billion miles and hour into the slide though.

Horrible tactic, must be stopped.

When I saw that smarmy little bastard Slater do that I got very angry. It's disgusting and in no way should it be legal. I don't give 2 shits whether its not against the rules to do that. IF you DO, then you are a grade A Bastard. You know the possible outcomes so why the **** would you do it?

I really hate the "it's not against the rules" defence that has been thrown around on here. The lack of sportsmanship that exists everywhere these days is just amazing to me.

LOLZ! [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1.

"Thrown around here". Um, I'm the only on that mentioned it isn't against the rules.

Over reaction much?

P.S. Just have the balls to say; "Hammo you are an A grade bastard."

P.P.S. Sportsmanship? LOLZ. Glasshouses.

I was waiting for that. However Queenslander, all this naming stuff is quite obviously done in jest.

naming it is, but the first few posters are actually complaining about the act itself. ppl like slater and sing save so many tries by sliding in feet first to get under the ball and hold the attacker up. nothing wrong with it

Sliding in feet first is OK, but the issue is his tags are up. He should slide so his toes are the first point of contact should be connect, as long as when he does it he hits the ball or basically anywhere other than the head.

IMO, one of the great things about the GF, was that there was no silly stuff from both sides. No real wrestling in the rucks, no lying al over the ruck. No punches, nothing.

The only blight was Matai checking Falou every kick.

I forget who it was, but there was one where the guy got nailed in the guts.

Word up. That was the only way Matai was going to stop him. Pretty sure he stuck out a leg on the first kick to the corner.

Uhhh no I was referring to Slater as the A-grade bastard actually. And "thrown around here" was meant in regard to all the Melbourne shite that has been discussed on these forums. When the wrestling BS was being talked about, a few people mentioned that melbourne aren't actually breaking any rules. Which I think is a ridiculous way to look at it.

And as the Rock has said before, instead of just saying LOLZ like a f*cking idiot, how about you elaborate on your argument.
Glass houses? How so hammo? What Slater is doing there is disgusting and shows complete disregard for his opponent. I don't care if it was Slater, Lockyer, Mason, Hannant etc, it's a dog act. But because it's a Melbourne player and we're all sticking the boot in, Hammo and his merry band of melbourne loving pole smokers come along having a spaz attack about how we're only saying it cause Melbourne are successful.

- Only because Melbourne are succesful
- LOLZ

Only words said on the Storm bandwagon.

What is the point of Slater doing this - if he had kicked the ball out of Robertson's hand it would have been a penalty try. If he really injured Robertson he would have been charged with striking - he probably should have been hit with some sort of reckless/careless charge anyway

Just saw some highlights on FoxSports and Slater did the exact same thing when Ballin scored from dummy half.

He's going to connect with someone's head one day, not cool.

WRONG. It would not have been a penalty try. The rules states you are allowed to strip the ball over the line, and the worst you will get is a penalty given against u now. Also, knocking the ball out with ur foot doesnt count as a strip, so in fact he wouldnt have been penalised at all. Obviously you are either too young or too ignorant to remember Ridge doing the same thing to the broncos many years ago.

Why is it such a ridiculous way to look at it? At the time it was brought in, it was innovative and it did change the way the game was played, they were a step ahead of the pack. Obviously now that grappling is illegal it has changed how the wrestle will work in league but buy wrestling without touching the neck/head they still aren't breaking any rules.

p.s. when you start resorting to name calling and questioning peoples sexuality, your argument really loses its credibility.

No different to a shoulder charge - time it to perfection it can knock a ball lose or stop momentum of a team, if it is mistimed could end in a suspension, penalty etc. If he pulls it off and the ball is held up, he makes a play for his team. If he mistimes it he could be in trouble. It's taking a risk.

Normally I don't resort to name calling or "questioning their sexuality" but when someone childishly has a go at my opinion I have no problem dishing it out.

LOLZ. [icon_wink

Oh and it's a ridiculous way to look at it because it's extremely dangerous. Thanks.

WRONG. You are not allowed to kick the ball out of the hands of a player. If you want to strip you need to use your hands. Many years ago Ridge may have gotten away with it, but rules have changed since then. Did you not know that if Cameron Smith's last ditch effort to stop Witt's try with the foot came off, it would've been a Warriors penalty try?

You could be right but - especially on the penalty try thing (but I am sure I read/heard/saw that somewhere - maybe even from someone like Sterlo?)

But if he missed and broke someones arm, hand, slashed their face with his tags the NRL would have no option other than to charge him with some sort of misconduct. It is the same principle as a high tackle or a dangerous throw - intent is not always there but sometimes carelessness gets the better of you.

As for the young, ignorant thing - grow up mate - there are better ways to get your point across
