To the fact that even though he has a coached a whole shedload of NRL Premiership games, he couldn't win a free Tazo in a chip packet. Yes, he won with Wests back whenever it was. Who cares anyway? I don't. Such a myth.

Also, I'm aware that this thread concept is so old and cliche. I thought it needed another run for old time's sake.

If only I'd actually thought in that much depth before posting! Would have been awesome.
 
Well sheens is a myth of the highest order and wtf is with the beard??? No surprise to see rocky sticking up for his beloved tigers.
 
They also have the best fans, they win every home ground penalty count by a huge amount.

Their backline has been very shaky and has had no stability in it at all. They have forever interchanged Fullbacks, they lost Tuiaki to retirement, lost Chris Lawrence for most of this year and had to backfill it with average guys like Brown and Utai, the bought Lote Tuqiri due to their poor depth on the wings and even then Tuqiri hasn't exactly set the world on fire. They bought Utai this year for god knows what reason, probably because they still lacked any real depth in the backline. Blake Ayshford has been the shining star though, this is a great example of producing a good player and putting the work into someone.

They have had one of the most disrupted rosters I've ever seen in rugby league.

Based on that, Sheens has done a great job. Never really had the best players, never had the stability in the team due to injuries but somehow managed to always make his team competitive.

Sheens has been there for 9 seasons and has had Benji and Robbie there for all that time. It's pretty mediocre that they've only made the finals 3 years in that time.
 
Are you seriously crying about the West Tigers not being able to recruit any stars?? They had no salary cap space so I would think they had a squad full of talent. :shake:
 
They already had 2 of the biggest stars in the game in the side? Your argument is rubbish. Shane Flanagan could be a good coach if he had Slater and and Cronk in his side.

I'm not a Tigers hater, in fact, I quite like them (though the mediagasm this year has been a little too much). I am very surprised to hear that they have only made the finals 3 out of the past 9 years, I would have guessed a strike rate of at least 50%.

That being said, a question for Rock:

If their main problem over the years has been their roster, then why has Sheens not done anything to rectify this? In this day and age, the make up of the squad is really the coach's responsibility, so I can't see the blame for that going to anyone else. There is no reason why they shouldn't be able to attract players - they're a well-liked club with plenty of history and have won a premiership this decade. I don't get it :confused:
