Especially considering Paix was extended for 2yr under Kevvie before being dropped to reserve grade
is that it?Unliketommy league knowledge don’t stop there.
Signed Mozer
Signed Bukowski
Signed, promoted and re-signed Smoothy
IKR. Paix is the best hooker in the comp, huge engine and defensively reliable. We all saw him get through a 22minute stint once. And just look at the last 18 months of being on the open market!! Littered with offers, a genuine starter at any other club!is that it?
He signed someone else too didn't he? Head-hunted him the moment he got here a few years back.
Too bad he didn't work out in the halves but dad made sure there was a spot for him.
Give my regards to the walters family 1910.
Ok, whatever. Sounds like he's getting more than a 22 minute stint this year though.IKR. Paix is the best hooker in the comp, huge engine and defensively reliable. If it weren't for that treacherous Walters and his scheming!! He never wanted to be a good NRL coach, he just wanted Billy to be the clubs hooker!
I feel for Jordan, a lot of what you point out is something that shows up in young men that were raised in broken homes. A Father can make or break a young mans confidence. I don't know the ins and outs of his life but from my understanding he didn't know his father well before his untimely passing. This can have big effects on a young man. This seems likely. I just wish Riki matured. He's a big body, but he's not serious. He's still a child, and so unconfident in his abilities. He looks surprised a lot of the time when he scores a try or makes a break. He's got talent, obviously, but he doesn't back himself and drops the ball, or second guesses the play, or whatever.
Piakura too needs to find some consistency.
I hope Madge can squeeze it out of these blokes. Kevvie was great for pumping the boys up in terms of ego, but as soon as they messed up they needed their diapers changed. I thought Kevvie might have been a bit tougher on them, tbh, but now with Madge there's a good chance he can make these boys into men.
Riki does try and get aggressive with his defence, but when taking hit ups he tries to use some footwork before the line (similar to piakura), but uses it too deep into the line or doesnt get into gaps so that it is ineffective and only serves to stop his momentum leading into the collision.I feel for Jordan, a lot of what you point out is something that shows up in young men that were raised in broken homes. He also has the appearance of being a quality human being so his mother and family did a stellar job of raising a good man. But he obviously lacked that something, that a good father can provide. I think Madge may be able to bring the best out of him by providing a bit of that something. The only other coach we all know who could is WB.
Before anyone has a go at me for chauvinism, that's not my intent. I know full well that just being around doesn't make a father. But an invested father that guides and nurtures a boy to manhood is invaluable to his future and that is a proven fact.
So let's hope that Madge can light that fire in Riki, so we can all witness his full potential come forth. With some controlled aggression this man could be an absolute beast on the edge.
If the reports are true I think this team is pretty close to the one Madge would select. This likely won’t be the team but I would select
1. Walsh
2. Cobbo
3. Staggs
4. Mariner
5. Arthars
6. Hunt
7. Reynolds
8. Haas
9. Paix
10. Carrigan
11. Gosiewski
12. Riki
13. Hetherington
14. Mozer
15. Jensen
16. Willison
17. Pikaura (subs with Gosiewski)

Walters, Paix and Smoothy are all at the same level. Don't have any preference, whatever the coach sees over the offseason. Unless Maguire has worked miracles with Piakura then he's gotta start off the bench. Gosiewski should be able to start and just be solid, if he can't manage that then wtf was he bought for.
