Titans flyer leaves on a mission

Why bother having football contracts if someone can leave when they want?

For money if you get injured.

Uhm, like any work contract, you can apply to leave early. I think Jordan wouldn't have been allowed to piss off and sign for another NRL club, but the Titans rightfully saw the fact that he's going on a religious mission as something they couldn't really stand in the way of...

Fair enough, but I hope he's not getting paid the rest of his contract money.

I'd say it'd be extremely unlikely that he's still getting paid. Consider the situations, though, they're pretty similar.

Eastwood goes into the office of the Broncos and says that he's getting offers to earn three times as much money in the UK, will likely go there when his contract is up, and requests an early release to take the contract now. Broncos weigh up the situation, look at the backrow stocks for next year and look at the inevitability that they simply won't be able to match his UK offer at the end of next year anyway. No worries, good luck, see ya later.

Jordan would've done the same thing. Gone to the club and requested that he leaves to go on his mission. Because he requested the break of contract, he would've had to forfeit the cash as a result.

do mormons have to give part of their salary to the "church" like some other cults?

Must do, those golden spires don't pay for themselves I reckon.

Tithing (is that how spell it?).

Dunno if it's a total requirement. But then again, most Christians are "encouraged" to donate 10 percent.

Mormons most certainly DO have to tive. I have a brother -in-law who is a Mormon and it is nothing short of a cult. Ask me over a beer one day and I can tell you stuff about them that will seriously make the hairs on your back stand up! I had the pleasure of attending an open day at the Brisbane Mormon Church at Kangaroo Point, before it was blessed. As soon as it is officially blEssed, any non-mormon or any Mormon under a certain "rank" can never step foot in the place.....including tradesmen, etc!!!! [icon_ee

Eg. His own father (who isn't Mormon) couldn't come to his wedding (held in the Church in Sydney, which is the "senior" Mormon church in Australia), because he isn't Mormon. Other stuff I can tell you is pure CULT!

Sssh, Izzy is a mormon. Let's not say the c-word here.

Not that c-word, the other c-word.

Dirty bugger.

I hope the club discussed a mission with Falou. He is coming up to the age that you are supposed to go soon.

Considering he would be tiving somewhere in the ballpark of $30,000 next year,; I'm sure they will convince him, he doesn't need to leave on his mission just yet.

Don't think Hannant has done his yet, so it's pretty flexible anyway.

"I was wondering whether to do my mission in 2009 or sign with the Bulldogs"
"What are they offering?"
"350k a year"
"Sign that shit now! I need a toilet seat made of SOLID GOLD!"
