Trial 1: Broncos vs Cowboys

Thats good, because I would have literally cried if Maranta played fullback, considering he can't even play wing at an NRL standard.
Yeah because being a good winger is relevant to your fullback play. Just ask Reece Robinson, sure Barba, Milford, Coote, Lockyer etc were all heaps better wingers.

Pretty strong team tbh, even without Thurston and co.

Yep - Cowboys are gonna take some beating this year.

That forward pack... Tamou, Scott, Hanannt, Lolo

Reading between the lines on the article on the Broncos website, I'm guessing this'll be close to the team named for the trial.

(Thaiday, Parker, Hodges, Gillett, Copley, Oates, Stagg, Reed, Wallace all rested)

1. Jordan Kahu
2. Daniel Vidot
3. Aaron Whitchurch
4. Greg Eden
5. Lachlan Maranta
6. Anthony Milford
7. Ben Hunt
8. Josh McGuire
9. Andrew McCullough
10. Adam Blair
11. Alex Glenn
12. Todd Lowrie
13. Joe Boyce

14. Travis Waddell
15. James Gavet
16. Mitch Garbutt
17. Joe Ofahengaue

I think you'll see more trial players.

I think you'll see more trial players.

Yeah I was just naming the sort of core group I was expecting, I have no doubt we'll name a 24 man squad like the Cowboys, or thereabouts.

Boys don't even know the side yet, they had a day off yesterday.

Anderson can now play. He's put on 5kg over the off-season since he became a Bronco.

I'm actually pretty sick of our quick players "Bulking up" (Not saying Carlin, because I've never even seen the kid, just in general), look at a team like the Roosters, all of their backs / halves are thin, quick, agile.. and they destroy everyone..

Not everyone can be Greg Inglis.

agree. but i have seen kahu/vidot/reed all state they are trimming kgs for speed in this pre-season. so seems the penny may have dropped a little. well. griffin is gone i guess.

wow that's a strong squad
our spine for the start of the year is all there and our front row is too. should be a great trial
is anyone going to this so we can get a match report
interesting to see waddell on the bench (thought he was still injured) and no parcel either

Interesting to see Gavet at 13...

Glad that our spine for Round 1 is getting some game-time, excited to see Hunt and Milf start to gel.

Eden may have a bit of a run at fullback too, otherwise I think he would've been named at centre over Opacic.

Interesting to see Gavet at 13...

It is although I reckon Blair will play lock with Gavet in the front row. Either way, they both will play up the middle in the ruck

i dont think it means alot... other than blair and gavet both getting a start

Yeah, I'm not putting too much emphasis on it.
Really glad to see Dodds back. He was starting to show more than good defence before his cruelling injury.

Where is Garbutt though? Is he still recovering from injury/surgery?
