Trial #3 vs. Warriors Pre-Match Discussion

intereting:

-parker at prop
-no vidot or molo, but they aren't listed in the team to take on capras either.

2 things I don't like about that side, and yes I know it's just a trial.

1. Maranta. Please piss him off now. You have Vidot who is better than Maranta with a busted leg and one hand tied behind his back.
2. Corey Parker at prop. We weaken one position just to try and strengthen another? I thought the whole point of us signing Kennedy was so we didn't have to use forwards out of their best positions?

So I'd say that 5/8 is down to either Barba or Nikorima

No I don't think so, Barba is most likely just being rested before Round 1 so Hook has chucked Hoffman in the position, when Barba is back then hopefully Maranta ***** off back to wherever and Hoffman to the wing. 5/8 will be between Nikorima and Strasser, they've both been named so they might each get a half to see what they can do.

What does everyone think of that 8-13? I've got a feeling that might be permanent.. Griffin really wants Glenn in the starting lineup.

I think I'd much prefer

8 - McGuire
10 - Hannant
11 - Gillett
12 - Thaiday
13 - Parker

14 - Glenn
15 - Kennedy

hopefully it doesnt mean too much..... it does look like the #griffinism rule #43 "fit everyone into the 17".

but yeah.

I think Parker at 10 is a good idea. He can play kind of like Gallen, but even more centrally, which is frankly a great idea IMO. Parker has this bad habbit of always cutting inside, and he has shut down a few promising positions by going central rather than running or passing out wide to the open space. Playing him at prop should reduce those negative plays whilst still getting all the positives of his strong offloads and work rate.

Griffin deserves kudos for the move. But he loses it all for playing Maranta. Egh.

Parker, McGuire, Kennedy and Hannant are one hell of a Front row rotation, and I can see Lowrie coming in to cover for Thaiday's stints on the bench.

It's certainly worth the experiment...

So now the dummy has put Corey Parker in the Front Row - well done Hook my boy - thats right put our best loose forward up in the engine room to screw him up and the team just like you did with Sam last year - look where that got him - the sack from being CAPTAIN
So here is Parker - one of the best 3 locks going around - remember he plays there for Australia - and you have pushed him up to the engine room to accommodate Glenn and Gillett
If he does this in round 1 we will be going with 4 front rowers on the bench
Lets hope someone gives him a stiff uppercut and tell him to wake up - we bought big new forwrards to play in the front row you dill - give them a go first - OMG

The rest is ok except for MARANTA - where is Vidot - at least he is giving Kodi a run

the thing i dont like is glenn/gillett/thaiday means someone has to play more in the middle. if its thaiday then we're just shooting ourselves in the foot again since his best footy has always been on the right edge.

I like Parker at 10 and Thaiday at 13.

Will be interesting to see if it's any different to Thaiday at 10 and Parker at 13. Right now I'm pretty skeptical about that.

Could somebody please post up the line-up for the Capras game?

also parker shouldnt be taking the first or second hit up of the set.

thats what youre genuine front row rotation is for. hannant/mcguire/kennedy/fourth prop.

I thought you had to be 20 or under to play in the U20's? Or am I mistaken?

just saw this posted elsewhere

"I think its just to find out which of Gillet, Glenn and Thaiday will get the last two spots. "

that could be spot on you know. parker is the captain so he has to start the game regardless (and thaiday is probably a gaurentee), but he may want to see who works best out of glenn and gillett in the starting side.
