Deserved a send off and 12 weeks. You can tell from Peachy's face it was a brain snap out of frustration and it was completely deliberate. Therefore before or after the whistle is irrelevant, it was never an attempted tackle, it was lashing out. Just like a punch doesn't matter if it's during play or after.

Not surprised it's Peachey either, he's one of those James Roberts, Arana Taumata or Albert Kelly types that's one brain explosion, on or off the field, away from another torn-up contract or jail term.

I was shocked he didn't at least get 10 in the bin - at the absolute minimum.

An experienced referee like Cechin should have marched him as his comments when putting him on report summed up the situation perfectly. If that's not 10 in the bin I don't know what is.

Pretty disgraceful all round tbh.

I watched that passage of play again. and the only reason Blair doesn't end up on the top of his head is because he grabs peachy by the back of the neck to stop him going completely vertical. If he doesn't do that then he's in a wheelchair.

That sounds right. I also can't remember a captain saying his own player should be on report before he is, so Soward definitely knew he was going to be lucky to get away with just a report.

So far for dangerous throws they have handed down a 9 week suspension and an 8 week suspension

Actually the dangerous tackles for both would have been about 3-4 weeks, but the players had form & had loading points.

Bird had 150% loading because of similar tackles.

Bird would have gotten 6 weeks but the idiot decided to fight it & got an extra 2 weeks for not pleading guilty.

They usually sin bin the players that throw the punch and the instigators that caused the punch up.
