Adam Blair signed one of the highest contracts at the time for a forward a few years ago. How well did he do? What about Chris Sandow? Just cause someone is prepared to pay you big dollars doesn't always necessarily mean you're going that great, or will do in the future. I think some signings are made on a players potential rather than their current form. If Barba regains his 2012 form, then he's probably worth the money, if he doesn't (he didn't show many glimpses of it this year), then he's just an expensive liability.

Based on his most recent form, should he really be one of the highest paid players in the game? I think not, however if someone is going to pay him a million a year, then good on him.

Yes.......just because the Sharks are a club run by fucken idiots and will pay overs for Barba, doesn't necessarily reflect on how Barba's career is going in general. The point I made is, he's going to a far lesser club.....Cronulla, the perennial also rans.

Maybe AP and the likes thought Benji Marshall's career was also on the up when he signed for a squillion dollars to go and play union in butt **** nowhere. How did that pan out?

How did Folau and KHunts AFL careers go. Got paid a shit load of money, but have their AFL careers been any good?

Lets see how badly the Sharks still want Barba after another season of Barba's mediocrity.
