Updated - Lockyer rules himself out of Manly match

First of all, welcome dannymh, and my thoughts go out to you to have to co-exist with that amount of idiots in your forum. :shake:

FTR, I am a Manly hater, mostly because I hate the tinfoil hat culture of the club, and because it's the club who has most arrogant illiterate bogans per capita.
Your forum is yet another proof of this fact, with a few condemning the Neanderthal who visited us, but as many or more patting him on the back.

I'm all for banter and giving each other crap. Hell, I do that on regular basis with one of my best mates who is a Manly fan, and this week we'll be giving to each other more than ever. We try to be witty and creative, but don’t resort to dumb insults or racism, and even less do we bring anyone's mums or other family into it. The remarks about Lockyer's mother in your forum are a disgrace, emanating from keyboard heroes who should have never reached a higher level of consciousness than that of a stain on a bed sheet.

But I digress, and there's really no need to tell you what you already know and diplomatically explained in your introduction post.

Having said that, I respect the brand of footy Manly plays under Hasler, and I respect Manly's team as a formidable adversary, just as much as I respect the Dragons and Storm for the same reasons.

Friday’s showdown is worthy of a Grand Final, and probably will be in the sense that the winner is more than likely to take the title imo.
Neither team will go down easy, both have class and quality across the park, and the lack of experience from our youth will be made up through the enthusiasm and emotion riding Locky’s farewell.

Had this game been at Brookvale, I would definitely be giving you the favoritism, but at the SFS the odds are pretty even, especially since there’ll only be 3 or 4 Manly fans for each Broncos fan, making it easy for us to dominate! :cheesy:

No matter what happens, I will be proud of my team and how far they came in a year no one expected them to even make the top 8. I’m sure you’ll feel the same about yours…

Good luck with your website/forum endeavours, and may the best win on Friday night!

P.S. As Coxy said, if your lot win, count on me to support the opposition, no matter who it is!
Still accusing B.Stewart of sexual assault is a pretty low insult.

hard to disagree with many of your first points. My site is but a vehicle, the drivers are the ones at fault. we try to clean it up as best we can but it is a logistical nightmare. I wouldn't believe everything you are being sold out of the Sea Eagles club. The new owners are quite clever in the marketing field, and generating an us vs them mentality helps to breed loyalty.

I just wish that some of the fans could also see through it as well

I want the Warriors to beat the Storm.

I can't stand Bellamy.

I won't mention what I think of Hasler. (I will be nice to our Manly friend Dannymd)

Hassler? Legend, dead set legend. Sounds like he is consistently doing a Bob Hawk impersonation, but no-one can deny his footy knowledge and coaching ability

Without wanting to keep the innuendo going, Sam Thaiday has copped similar #### ever since 2008. As have Hunt and Boyd, who have since left the club.

So how I Darren Lockyer and his injury going?? I stand by my early post, he will not play.

of course, and they always will. Mud sticks, whether it was thrown in fairness or falseness. That is the problem. These people who have made the allegations, if false, only see dollar signs and 15 minutes of fame, they don't think about what it is doing to another innocent human being. It shows complete and utter disregard for others and certainly shows their moral compass is well and truly broken.

In the Broncos case, I don't think the woman in question was after $s. I think it was a simple case of regret after the fact when her friends were disgusted with what she'd done. But that's just what I've read into it.
Look at the Bulldogs case though. There's still mud sticking to some of the players around there at that time. Matthew Johns. Fact with all of them (although debatable about Stewart) is that they put themselves in that position to be exploited that way.

All those cases, while tasteless, I can forgive all and sundry. I can't forgive the partner bashing antics of Bird, Watmough, Lui, Watts and to a lesser extent Inglis (lesser extent only because the truth is so blurred with the lack of public knowledge of the facts surrounding the case).

Bird in particular is utter scum and should've done time as per the original conviction, IMO.

Couldn't agree more.
It's a low act. As much as your Mrs may #### you, and believe me mine does sometimes, I would never raise a hand against her.

Really any act that endangers others is hard to excuse, especially when done with knowledge, drink driving, speeding etc, but none are as low as what you mentioned

Protest crowd? So there actually was a group protesting against the NRL? Well that sums it up beautifully for me - Manly fans would rather whinge than go along to support their team. Not surprising one little bit.

Not having a go at you personally Dannymh but that is just lame and piss weak and one of the many reasons I despise Manly.

I don't disagree. Personally I live over 1000kms away from both brookvale and SFS, so I was no chance either way.

I do understand though, trust me, it's just no fun going to the SFS from Brookie and then having a night out and trying to get back.

the nickname for the Northern Beaches is "The Insular Peninsula" because, well it's very insular there, but given it's so hard to get anywhere or back from there, it's hard to blame them

Or when she realised, it was being filmed. (so the story goes)

Hi Lads,

Another Manly supporter looking for a bit of a pre match banter

re the crowd having lived in Brisbane for a while i do not think you guys realise how good it is to have a ground on your door step. With a young family i was no chance of getting to the SFS for a late game - a 6:30 kick off and we might have been a chance

All that said danny is right...we do not like to go over the spit bridge let alone the harbour

All I'm hearing is "blah blah blah blah" I'm soft.

Not as bad as new southwelshamn who supports the broncs....

Understand why you feel that way but it is tough at best to get to games with a young child let alone that late

From the Northern beaches you either get 2 / 3 buses ( around 1-1.5 hours) or dive...and we all know what it is like to park at the SFS!

Sorry mate, but that is grossly exaggerated. I go to Sydney on a regular base, as my company is based near Frenchs Forest, and I always stay at the Manly Pacific Hotel. From there I go to the company’s office or to visit customer sites as needed.
I get to Manly from the airport and vice versa in approx. 45 mins to an hour depending on traffic, and practically drive past the SFS doing so.

I live on the Gold Coast and it takes me more time to get to Suncorp, but unless my kid is playing at the same time (Friday nights), I don’t miss a Broncos game at the ground!

Just a remark on the NRL decision. It actually came up as a discussion recently on this forum.
If the game is ever to grow up to adulthood, playing at sphincters such as Brookvale, or Leichardt is not the way to go about it, much less during finals. Besides, why should clubs like the Dragons and Tigers be punished because they have more fans willing to put their bums on seats, while allowing the Manlys and Sharks of this world to play at their suburban grounds?

But in saying that, I still would have expected 20,000 for a FINALS match. I was never expecting a big crowd, 20,000 would have been fine. But 13,000? Look at the Tigers crowd the following week against a out of COUNTRY team.
Surely the Warriors have more support in Sydney than the Cowboys do?

I used to live in the country, 2.5 hours away from Brisbane, without a driver's licence (was a young fella). For 3 years in that situation I was a season ticket holder and didn't miss a game.

Probably half the time I'd talk my Mum and Dad into driving down to Brissy for the weekend so I could go to the game, but the other times it was a 4 hour bus trip (stopovers in Warwick, Aratula and Ipswich, plus going about 20km/hr over the gap).

Point I'm making - find a way to get to the fricking game!!! Your team is in the finals FFS!!!!!!!!!!! We've got people on this forum flying to Sydney for the game on Friday night - look at it any way you like, surely that's not easier that traveling 21km.

Manly = joke.
