Wake up and smell what's cooking: Controlled demolition

I love a good conspiracy theory (9/11, Area 51.. etc, it's riveting stuff) but this thread is that far gone the bloke who made the original post was obviously the guy in charge of coaching Isaako to try and get a 7 tackle set when there are seconds left to go in the half.

Why be so entitled to genuinely believe every thing wrong with this club is somehow brought upon us by the NRL and not the club? That very line of thinking of the very thing that makes opposition fans think we aren't genuine fans but rather we found the most winning team as we were growing up and said "yeah, that's MY team", unbelievable.

Get a grip of yourselves.

Staggs was drunk and played up, he deserves to be suspended, be it when he's fit or not it really doesn't make a difference, he made a mistake and has to go through the appropriate suspensions handed down by the NRL. That's the way it is.
Ummmmm it would really come from News Corp. who have a very strong relationship with PVL and the NRL in general. Money talks. Besides, it's about introducing a new product to the league to make more money. It's not so far fetched, really.

I doubt the players have any idea, though suspicions may exist, but it doesn't take much to create the right kind of results. A 6-again here, a penalty there, a sin bin or any other momentum shift (like a play called back 5 Tackles) and all of a sudden a team lacking confidence is on the back foot and reeling. Early 2020 games were close. Manly game was dodgy, Knights game was dodgy, Tigers game was dodgy. There is a moment in the tigers game where the entire team backchats the ref for an offside penalty (even though it should have been a 6again) and the momentum shifted entirely.

Did I write that fool! That’s the words from the CEO.
So you answer when its convenient, but not when pressed with a legitimate question so i will ask you again clown, name another player that has had to jump through the same hoops Staggs has after the fact, and after he has recovered from injury.

I didn’t know madness was so persuasive around here. I can’t reply to all your inane questions about why this happened and that didn’t, and why some people get different suspensions then others. Take it up with the NRL about how they grade off field incidents or just believe it’s all some sinister plot to hurt the Broncos.

I’m obviously wasting my time trying to bring add some common sense here. No point in continuing when it’s not needed.

Paul Gallen? Oh no, wait he had his doping backdated.

I'll never understand this...

You'll be back 😅

In contrast, Cleary got a 1000$ fine for having 5 girls come to his place to play silly buggers and dance all over each other in a time when social distancing was at its peak.

But i cannot find a single other player, that after spending a solid amount of time out of the game from injury, has had to complete both rehab and education programs before being allowed to play.
Pretty sure Cleary also got a 2 game ban along with the fine.

I agree the Staggs 2 week suspension after he is deemed fit to play is not consistent with what has been actioned with other players however.

Honestly, your points have been noted as far as im concerned, and its given me a different perspective on certain things, so its been enlightening regardless.

I am all for objective opinions and seeing situations from the perspective of others, so long as that courtesy is returned.

This what i was eluding to earlier, we are all fans of the same team, we question decisions being made by the NRL, particularly when there seems to be different sets of rules for different teams, and that is where the questions start being asked about agendas.

Its all speculative, but there are certain occurrences which are interesting to question and especially when money is to be made from them.

No hard feelings mate.

Off field incidents can vary greatly and are judged at the NRLs discretion. There is no rule rule book that says ‘2 weeks for punching a female, 4 weeks for abuse’. Off field incidents are entirely unique and the NRL needs to decide the punishment on a case to case situation.

Yep you are right, he got a fine and a 2 game ban, and thats on the back of lying to the police as well, which makes the situation even more baffling.

I accept that, but it seems odd when seemingly harmless indiscretions get a tougher sentence than far more serious ones.

Hitting on a girl while drunk and getting rejected (not breaking any laws) you get fined, banned and have to do rehab and education programs vs taking cocaine the night of a Grand Final or copping an assault conviction and receiving less punishment.

The same with the covid breaches, TPJ went to a barber shop and got threatened with having his contract torn up and forced to do several months labor.

Cleary has 5 girls over, lies to the cops, and gets a 2 game ban and a pissy little fine.

Does that seem normal to you?

Autocorrect? Pervasive or persuasive?

No insult here but eluding and alluding really seems to confuse a lot of people. Simple way to remember which is which is Allude is About. Emphasis on the A. Elude is Escape.

Cheers, wont be the last time i make that mistake, count on it haha.

The NRL boss drew a line in the sand over the incident.

“The NRL has issued a $20,000 fine, of which a portion will be used to fund his rehabilitation and education programs,” the club confirmed in a statement.

“Staggs, who is now medically fit to play after recovering from a long-term knee injury, will also sit out the Broncos’ next two NRL games.

“Staggs has met with NRL CEO Andrew Abdo, and fully understands the importance of adjusting his behaviour in the future.”

—-

You guys can fill in the blanks with your imagination.
I guess it could be a coincidence if drawing a line in the sand just so happens to be for this single event. I'd bet money the next NRL player to be suspended while injured won't have to serve his suspension after he's medically cleared.

Let's just go over this again.

Three of the Broncos top players have been subject to suspensions over non-events - Hass (standing up for a mate), Pangai (attending the opening of a barber shop) and Staggs (attempting to chat up a woman).

So, second-rate players don't receive such ridiculous suspensions.
Players from other clubs don't receive such ridiculous suspensions (although Jack DeBelin is an exception).
Only Bronco match-winners.

Anyone who continues to use the term "conspiracy theory" on this thread after reading my initial post, need to realise that you are seriously deficient in critical thinking ability.

You are one of the brainwashed. Wake up.

Really, the NRL acting as one contact a PR company, both legal registered organizations. The NRL then proposes to the PR company that they, the PR company comes up with a plan to commit a crime which will benefit the NRL. The target? A privately owned, stock exchange listed company. You think they'd collude and take the risk of a massive lawsuit and police police action?

This type of thing happens all the time. There are PR companies which specialise in this.

What crime? Its completely immoral, but probably lawful - as is self-harm.
