Wallace in doubt for the Raiders Game?

coxy...that shoulder scares me. I love him, but he always seems to be leading with the shoulder these days, won't last forever.

These days i tend to put my hands over my face when i see him going for it... Thought the worst last night to, almost tears stuff.

hopefully he snaps out of soon enough, he needs to develop a proper tackling technique, it;s seriously starting to scare me.

he also had a pretty serious limp aswell, not long before he was taken off. I don't think it woul hur to rest him this week. He copped a pretty good belting aswell, along with making some big hits. He said he was very sore after the last one, won't be any different this time round.

Baby bronocs have been valiant in defense at times, (esp the cronulla game) but Stagg does not work at 6, more so, we just cant seem to score a try with ease.
No Lockyer/Hodges/Hunt always seems to reduce our attack to about 20%, add to that no Wallace.... hmmmm

I hope Wallace isn't in doubt for the game, or hunt because most likely we'd have to rely on Perry and Stagg to move the boys around the park and honestly, i don't think that would work out too well at all. I think these games Ennis could run from dummy half to do alot of damage and score a few points. Aslong as you don't rely on Perry for points, the baby broncs could pull it off.

Anyone rate the chances of Moon to 5/8 and Emmett to centers?

Sydney Morning herald is saying Wallace in severe doubt due to being kicked in the nuts !!!!what the !!!
see below

"Brisbane halfback Peter Wallace was in severe doubt to play Canberra on Sunday after suffering an accidental kick to the testicles in State of Origin. Blues medicos said he was in significant pain yesterday morning. The rest of the Broncos' Origin contingent are expected to play."

Ive been kicked in the nuts and it hasnt hurt for 4 days cmon

One of my friends, got stuck climbing over the door about 7 or 8 years ago. Whichever way he moved, apparently it hurt him like crap in the testicular region. Me and my other friends were laughing the whole time, but it seems like it would have hurt a lot more than a kick. He was fine like a few hours afterwards.

It's definitely not a game missing sort of thing, especially after 4 days.

You guys know a lot about injuries during State of Origin Footy matches.

Geez some of you guys are full of it...

If Wallace gets dropped from Origin we are f##ked. To be made a scapegoat as a halfback at that age ruins confidence, Mullen was dropped in a very similar situation last year where he didn't do a lot wrong behind a beaten pack and he took a very long to time to regain confidence and is only now going really well again and to be honest I think he has more natural talent than Wally does.

He was carrying an injury but was going to be dropped regardless and was 50/50 to play. He wasn't given a chance to prove fitness and therefore as I see it got dropped (well thats how he saw it as well).

Perry and Stagg as our halves. Pfft.
I dont even want to watch the game now.

I cant believe i am saying this but i personally want Bennett to resign immediately. I am so sick of these selections.
Why the F**K wont he play a young bloke in the halves? Hell give Moon a go at 5/8 (i am not a fan of Moon).

I agree Prince Langer, Stagg at 5/8 is ludicrous. I don't mind Perry filling in at half to allow Ennis to do his thing from hooker but someone like Moon needs to play 5/8.

You've never suffered torsion of the testicles then. When the testicle gets twisted and basically has blood flow cut off to it. It's actually a medical emergency and requires surgery, which he apparently had last night. I'm guessing that's what Peter Wallace suffered.

Either that or he's potentially suffered a tear or rupture in one of them.

Poor bugger!

Worst. Injury. Ever.

Fingers crossed for a speedy and painless recovery!

We'll smash Canberra anyway...

Yep.

More details about Testicular injuries for anyone who wants to claim he's a wuss:

The survival rate the affected testicle is poor unless surgery is performed within 24 hours. In many cases, the spermatic cord on the unaffected side is also secured during the same operation to prevent future torsion of the other testicle.
Youch!!!

Broncos press release.

WOW Brisbane Broncos’ halfback Peter Wallace is out for at least one match after minor groin surgery last night.
While the operation was successful, Wallace will definitely not play against the Raiders at Canberra Stadium on Sunday.
The exact period of rehabilitation needed will not be ascertained until Wallace’s surgery settles down next week.
“We will not know when he can get back on the training or playing field until after the weekend,†said Broncos’ performance director Jeremy Hickmans this morning.
“The operation went well and he is out of hospital today.
“It will just be a matter of assessing him next week to see when he can resume running.â€Â
Broncos 2006 premiership–winning halfback Shane Perry has been brought into the Brisbane squad for the Raiders match, with coach Wayne Bennett to finalise his team at training tomorrow morning.

No word on the actual injury, but I'd say torsion or a tear is the most likely if it required surgery.

At least we have a "premiership winning halfback" to take his place :P

oh poor guy, why o why couldn't it have been gallen or bird or mason?
