Wallace injured

As much as it pains me to say this because Sims is my favourite player, I really think he should start shopping around for a new club, it's what best for him. He will never get to show his true potential here becuase Ivan will just drop him every chance he gets. He can be a great player and I even think he can be a future rep player. It's just that Ivan seems to have it in for him and because of that doesn't play him.

On Wallace though, this is terrible news.

Dude Sims actually wants to play for the Broncos yet is getting treated like a smouldering dog turd. I hope Sims signs elsewhere and comes back to haunt the Broncos I really do.

Yeh, I read that somewhere in the off season where it said he loves playing for the club, and if I can recall properly, he said he wants to be a Bronco for the rest of his career.

Being treated like a smouldering dog turd? He's not playing well enough, and not being selected. Sounds pretty fair to me.

WHAT? Ashton playing with no heart? Are you frickin' serious, what the hell is wrong with some people? [icon_shru imo, whenever he plays he has the most heart out their on the field. Shame Ivan can't see that. [eusa_doh
If he doesn't have a heart, i'd be interested to see what their meaning of heart is, wouldn't you?

YOU clearly haven't seen him play Q Cup. He's showing NO heart.

Good players when they get dropped bust their arse to prove they should be in the top grade by playing out of their skins. he's playing like he wants to be released. He'll probably get his wish.

Mabye that's because I don't live in Brisbane so I can't watch it so I can only refer to what iv'e seen of him which is in top grade, and whenever I see him play top grade he plays really well. Obviously Ivan doesn't see the same as i do.

And THAT'S what i was refering to before, I wasn't refering to QLD cup performance.

last year, before the finals match against st george (where wallace got injured) I said to my mate "what do you think will happen if Wallace goes down injured this game? do you think we will put Ben Hunt in the 7?" Well of Course, Wallace goes down and ive been copping shit for ages that I jinxed Peter Wallace.

Well the other day at the Cronulla game, just to prove it couldn't be me who is jinxing him, I said to my mate, "what do you think will happen if Wallace goes down injured this game? do you think we will put Ben Hunt in the 7?" and then Wallace goes down again.

Am I Peter Wallaces voodoo doll?
You are such a shit kent, he's my favourite player. [icon_frown

Well the big test for him is this weekend. Norths take on the in-form Redcliffe Dolphins, and frankly the likes of Michael Spence, David Hala and Matt Britt have shown far more than Sims has this year in the QCup. If he plays with half the passion you credit him for, he should know that these boys are on the fringe at the moment and he needs to outplay them to get another look in this season.

Thank you jeba icon_thumbs_u

Hala was dissapointing on the weekend i thought, he scored a good try but for most of the game whenever fins got in coasts 20 he was standing behind the play watching with his hands on his hips, with his strike rate he should really be looking for the ball a lot more and get more involved...

I've never watched anything other than a first grade game. Pretty much don't know anything about it. When is Sims on FTA next game?

And yet for Brisbane he was one of the best. In general I agree with the idea of, if you get dropped you need to dominate in the lower grades, fine. I mind of last year when he was doing just that, around March, and still not being picked.

And yet, when Ivan is forced to put him in firsts, he goes very very well, only to get dropped the next week. While we have a forwards drought. While we suffer for lack of size. Given these conditions how motivated would YOU be to smash nuffies in front of 100 people in the local park, knowing that the deck is stacked against you?

I also believe just as you have to make your way in the team you really have to make your way out of the team.
Sims has been good when he has played this year yet gets dropped anyway where as some players like Micheals played many horrible games in a row before he got dropped.

I would be thinking "I'm a forward. My team needs forwards. If I put in a bit of effort and show some heart in the lower grades then I'm pretty much guaranteed a spot, so that's what I'm gonna do."

I get what people are saying - that performance in first grade should really be the only thing that matters - but I personally place huge importance on attitude. If he was young and new to first grade then I could forgive him the odd sook, but he's not. If he had shown consistently top form at some point in his time here then I would wonder what else might be going on, but he hasn't.

I want our senior players (which he would be, based on age) to be setting a good example for all the young guys we've got this year. I want good, hardworking forwards for the rookies to model themselves on (like Nick Kenny), not a grown man who chucks a hissy fit when he's dropped because he feels entitled to a spot.

Many people including me thought that this would be the year that Simms really cements his position as a forward leader and enforcer, sadly this has not been the case. To say that Henjak has something against him is ludicrous schoolboy stuff. No coach of a professional football club would jeopardise his own future for the sake of a grudge. Simms results are there for that care to look. At no stage this year has he deserved to be picked based on his QLD Cup form, or on anything that he has displayed in his few chances in first grade. You have to earn a first grade spot and Simms has not warranted selection. He needs to stop sulking and get out and demand selection on performance or go find another club and stop wasting valuable salary cap money.
