MELTDOWN Wayne Bennett - Moves to Souths

Should Wayne Bennett's Contract be Extended?

I don't see Bennett landing at the Tigers to be honest however there is one major club I would see him going to and that would be Parramatta. They are desperate for a premiership and he might be the coach they need to get it. Plus Arthur needs a big start to the season to justify his position considering the fall they had this year. With parras junior system, Bennett could actually do a bit of damage with that at his disposal.

Their entire top 30 would have a collective IQ in the hundreds. Their spine contains some of the biggest peanuts I've seen.

It will the same at Parra or the Tigs for Wayne: he won't have the cattle to make the 4, and therefore won't be able to win the comp. His best choice is Penrith, but that won't happen.

EDIT: Again, I don't see the point of him coaching at another club that has close to zero percent chance of winning the prem, which is what he'd want to do before he retires. His best chance is next year with the Broncos. If I was advising him I'd tell him to go to England in 2020 and win an ESL title or something, because his NRL prospects are bleak.

I know right! Like to live life on the edge haha. Seriously though, all this rumour-mongering can't be good for the club, or the players. Better to get it sorted before pre-season training starts in 3 weeks surely.
You're a good sport.

My dad is the prime minister.

It's not really pre-season prior to Christmas, mainly just fitness management and working out any injury concerns, post-Christmas is when they get in to the actual footy stuff. Wouldn't be too concerned if we don't have it sorted until about new years.

Oh ok, fair enough mate.

Time will tell, but all that is known is both coaches turned the team around in their rookie year... Madge then continued to have them firing for the next 2 winning a GF in the process before the playing group apparently got "burnt out" (absolute cop out if you ask me).

We'll see what Siebold can do in his second year, but I think their defence is a little too suspect to be considered heavy weights just yet.

2014 Rabbitohs team had a WAAAAAAAY better squad than the 2018 Rabbitohs. Beats them easily in pretty much every area.

Can't remember off the top of my head, but 2014 bunnies would have had Issac Luke, Keary, were there any other notable differences? The 2018 team has Gagai, Cody Walker for starters. There's obviously more I am missing but thought the two teams would be pretty close talent-wise? Maybe 2018 version even slightly ahead.

2014 had Inglis in superb form at fullback, obviously Keary in the halves. Better/more experienced backs in Dylan Walker, Johnston on the wing, Lote Tuqiri. Sam Burgess in the best form of his career, and Ben Te'o too (he made a huge difference in 2014).

GI's form alone would probably be enough to make the 2014 side superior thinking back. He's a shadow of the player he was back then. Of course all the injuries haven't helped.
